What's up with that warm pocket in the eastern Gorge?

Spokane/ far eastern WA area gets coldest when it comes from the Northeast down the Purcell Trench from E BC into N ID.  this is coming from the N/NW component.  A lot of times these underperform in this area, but over perform over near Omak, Moses Lake and the Gorge, etc

I will mention a handful of times we've actually seen the GEFS/EPS to be an outlier briefly which then catch up to the Op. It's rare. I don't think that's the case here. Who knows. Onto 00z!

As I understand it, less deviation between the op and control means resolution plays less of a role in differences shown by the EPS yea?

I don’t think it will happen that way either Matt.

Good points jesse what do you think about this fog kinda makes things chilly

There also is no solid analog for a Cat5 December model tease followed by a January where some smart a** lawyer ends up looking like a TOTAL GENIUS. Gonna happen, though.

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Yeah for no reason. Am I next? Are you? I don't play games if that occurs I'll just leave.

If this thing falls apart and January fails to materialize I’m sure Fred will shut me down like a Mervyns California.

We still 48-60 hours of model riding to go before this is fully locked in. A lot can still change, but no idea if that will be in our favor or not.

Hey Rob, can you tell about when the front looks to roll through PDX area.  I can't tell.  Sunday?  Monday?  I can't imagine the ECMWF 2m temps are that cold for PDX.  Mid teens really realistic for those highs?  What do you see?  I'm roughly 15 miles from you.

My lowest temps for my location (I'm between Estacada and Redland) was two nights of 8. That was Dec 2013)  My creek froze over.  Old timers said that was a first.

Look at the map.  Your answer isn't pertinent.  I was only mentioning that one small area.

May as well suspend me if you're going to do Andrew dirty like that. I'm not posting any 00z content if you don't lift the suspension and mail him a gift card to Radio Shack.

I'm serious though.

He is still in the loop. Lurking and talking to me on Facebook messenger, lol.

This isn't over yet. Good chunk of -7 to -12c members. Obviously more 'warm' members than we'd like, but all hope is not lost yet. Yet.

Interesting how the control delays it even more and still gets to the same place as the operational.

Also note, the control agrees w/ the operational.

Yes indeed.   I have been saying that might be an important detail.
