PSA:
The NWS always appreciates observations, especially detailed observations that everyone on here is capable of giving. That can be done thru Twitter, as they often set up a feed for that, or the mPing app. That can include final snowfall amounts, when the snow starts/stops, precip type, dew point, etc
This helps them with short term forecasts as well as future forecasts as they can learn from them. A few years ago they had a freezing rain advisory for Leavenworth, but I notified
PDX is now 4 inches above normal for 2024.
SLE is 5 inches above normal for the year.
Pretty impressive for just over 4 months into the year.
But assume talk of catastrophic drought will continue from our friends down there. Even though those stations could now go until September without rain and still be wetter than normal for the year.
There's a chance that a few showers could work up into my area today otherwise cloudy and cool. Looks like most of us will dry out and cool down for a good while after the early and midweek storms roll through. @Tom maybe some rain in the valley?
Active day tomorrow especially for Oklahoma and Kansas.
The NAM indicating that Tuesday and Wednesday could be an active day for others east into the Ohio Valley.
Last night was my first thunderstorm in almost a full calendar month.. things look considerably more active moving forward so I should be racking more of them up this month.
