Excuse the poor quality! 4* was the coldest reading I had from Lake Whatcom to the BLI airport this morning and it happened on Lakeway Drive going towards town.

BZN has been down to -43 this morning already. Oh so close to the all-time record! Some fog has developed there but they still have plenty of time to break it.

They did set a new record low yesterday of -34 breaking the record low of -31 set in 1983.

Currently -34 here and pressure is sitting at 1067 mb!

Looks like a lot of stations around the airport have bottomed out at -40 since that is as low that PWS will record! Didn’t think I’d ever see that!

I can’t believe I’m seeing this but it would appear that Bozeman MSU just tied their all-time record low of -43. Records go back to 1892!!

That station was originally in the middle of a wheat field now it’s smack dab in the middle of a large 16,000 student campus in the middle of a city of 50,000+ people!

NAM just destroys any precip as it comes on shore entire WV is very dry through 7 tonight.

Its 17 in North Bend with an east wind and it painful to be outside and this would be a heat wave for you.   I don't know how you do it.   And I grew up in Minnesota!    I have to say... I am glad this won't last long here.

12Z NAM temps at 10 a.m. tomorrow... this is warmer than the 00Z run showed for the Seattle area.   About the same for Portland.

Probably going to get atleast 0.3” of ice here in Tacoma. With the model’s tendency to overdo scouring of cold air…could end up closer to 0.5”. Gonna be a nasty end to this event. 
 Down to 20 degrees outside currently. Still time to hit 19 this morning. Yesterday finished 31/22.

Glad I went to the store last night. When I went the the grocery store yesterday it seemed pretty quiet and the shelves were totally stocked. Was expecting it to be busy with people preparing but get the feeling tomorrow catches people off guard.

Went outside with the puppos.....It doesn't feel that cold. I mean, it's cold, but I was thinkin 18* was gonna feel colder. 

The impending ice can f*ck right off.

Quite the mix up here. 5” of snow. 1/4” of sleet and a 1/4” of ice. 
 

Outflow kept temps up at times during the night here. But we did manage to drop to 9F when the breeze backed off for a bit.

16 F here, very impressive airmass!

NWS must be following the NAM since they WSW is only for at most 0.2” of ice. Euro and GFS would put us closer to 0.5”. Either way the roads will such tomorrow but there’s a huge difference between those two outcomes as far as tree damage and power outages.

So event totals being reduced because of reduced precip in the offshore flow? That would make sense. Wonder if that means the lowest levels hold onto the cold a little longer.

Overall trend of the 12z meso models seems to be less precip south and more precip north. Can’t get weatherbell to work but looks like the RGEM is going to give Washington one hell of a transition.

Temperature has been bouncing around a bit this morning. See it has been as low as 9.5˚F overnight. Just 0.1˚F too warm to round to a single-digit reading. Argh.

If you assume the east metro stays frozen until Saturday afternoon, then it looks like some places could see over an inch of ice. Looks like half and inch to 3/4ths in the rest of the Metro according to the RGEM
