I wonder.  I suppose there will be more confirmation to come if it's true.

I’ve been up there before. That is just perennial summer snow cover. The glacier has retreated in summer (losing over half its mass since the 1950s).  Honestly though I’m a bit skeptical of their conclusions though. We know that many of the Cascade glaciers were in major advance during the Little Ice age. The recent retreat started well before the modern era. It would not take many seasons with cool summers and heavy accumulations to start advancing again.

I hope whatever changed after the little ice age to stop though!!

I wonder if Mr. Pelto has ulterior motives. Other glaciers nearby look healthy too, but who knows. That Alpine Lakes Wilderness area looks flat out amazing.

I was struck by how barren everything looks in that pic.  So harsh that nothing can grow up there.

Totally agreed.

People have got to get out of the mindset that thinking the weather they have seen in their lifetime has been the normal since the beginning of time.  That is obviously not the case.  I hate how the media takes advantage of knowing that people only have a very short sighted view of things.

BTW this is the nearby Lynch Glacier at the end of the summer. WA cascades are just amazing. Nothing like them in lower 48.

There is evidence to suggest or support that humans may be contributing to warming, but to what extent is impossible to know. There is also concrete evidence well before the industrial revolution that the earth faced much warmer periods, the arctic used to be of a tropical climate, but none of that was labeled global warming, climate change, or really no label attached, not publicized either, it's cyclical. It has always been cyclical. It doesn't mean glaciers aren't melting, but the obvious narrative in that article and so many others is painfully obvious. It's not helpful to do so. It's also ridiculous to suggest natural gas isn't safe anymore, or isn't a clean source, then more regulations and restrictions are placed on people and their freedoms, or that farming has to be completely transformed, policy is changed to push the same unfounded nonsense, and then it is forced on all of society. Then you see simpletons people incapable of thinking for themselves protesting over "climate justice" and other lunacy. Even in schools. The elites don't give a damn about the climate, nor any of us, yet they are the ones spearheading all of this for their own gain. Nope!

Also looks like its too dry for frost here.   I was thinking the roads would be really icy this morning given that it was raining yesterday evening but everything is totally dry.

Man the north wind ripped here all night,  strongest north wind I've had all winter, much stronger than Dec.  Currently 31 degrees with a 20-30mph wind. I checked bremerton airport and they have not had that much wind there and they are only about 6 miles east of here but I'm 200ft higher and right at the base of gold mountain. The elevation plays a huge part out here when we get these Fraser outflow events.
