jzuzphreek
This definitely over-delivered in St. Joseph, MO! The early morning forecast yesterday called for a trace to 2 inches. I ended up shoveling about 3.5 inches off my driveway this morning. A lot of sleet fell through the afternoon, into early evening, before turning to snow at about 6:00. And when the snow came down, it fell FAST! Just north of here, though towards Iowa, I believe they got a lot more than us. I'm a happy camper!
East Dubzz
The final burst of heavy snow this morning boosted my total to 4.6 inches. That sounds a lot better than 3.8. My liquid total is 0.44". This stuff is pretty light and fluffy, so a ratio of 10.5 to 1 seems low. As usual, it appears I under-performed/under-measured many locations around Cedar Rapids. Because we got stuck in more dry pockets, there are plenty of 7+" reports well east, south, and west.Yeah the stuff here is fluffier than I expected as well. james1976
Schnack said it was gonna be a wetter heavier snow. I was skeptical of that during his newscast.
VMB443
Storm pretty much done here - I would say about six inches or a hair more. Really nice storm!
jaster220
63F degrees WARMER than it was Monday morning in Marshall. Looks like I'm about the sole poster involved in this storm that's gotten the shaft. Congrats to those of y'all who got snow tho. Hoping I've got something left after today's disaster. Iowawx
I finished with 5.7 inches here. Good system overall, because there was a period in time that rain looked like a possibility here. Thankfully, we saw no rain here, and all snow. We now have a pretty deep snowpack as a result.
dubuque473
Just got done running the 2 stage. Snow like this it is fun to throw it into the lower 40 lol. I have 6” in my gauge, it was built up higher on the edges but I am not sure if I can tap that off to level and count it? It was a solid 6” without a Bump N Giggle however. Beautiful out like E.D. Mentioned with the sun. Really decent snow pack now with the potential for a couple of clippers coming maybe. East Dubzz
Dubuque Airport storm total was 5.2”. Considering I was about half an inch higher than them earlier this morning, my total is definitely about the 6” I assumed. Only negative is that I won’t be able to ever get an official measurement on it from my place, as i assume it’ll compact somewhat by the time I get back from work.
dubuque473
Always found it funny the official DBQ measurements come from the airport which is a few miles Souh of the city and not in the city limits proper. Stormy
I measured in a dozens of places & the most common amount was 5.5" to 6" >. Washington county has several 7" reports & 6" seems reasonable here. It's difficult walking around without sinking way down some places and getting snow filled boots, & I'm talking about 16" boots! Had 4 gauges out (two different types) & they all had nearly the same amount of 0.68"- 0.69" of liquid which includes the drizzle which I expect added at least 0.10". I'm pretty sure the gauges didn't catch any drifting snow as they were somewhat sheltered this time. I make a science out of this...lol, but I'm always curious on amounts!

gimmesnow
I thought this stuff would be some wet, nasty garbage but it was amazing for snowboarding today. I got there for opening chair and had 8 to 12 inches (thanks to drifting) of beautiful powder. It was so good. I had a powder day Friday too. The last few years we got one at most per season. And now maybe one next Monday.

gabel23
What a tight cutoff to the North!Unfortunately for me I’m that area to the north. It’s crazy how the storm pattern has played out that way this winter. I think falls city has all but locked in having more snow this winter than Norfolk, Ne. That would be unheard of if that plays out.
