What are you talking about? The ICON looked great. Lows going down the coast with sub-522 thickess. Then it shows what would be a major snow event for most of Western Oregon at the end....

Holding steady at 18 here, winds finally made it here, sustained about 14mph, gusting to 20.  We had a snow shower, but it is getting harder to tell what is falling from the sky and what is blowing off of rooftops.

 

I'm hoping we will get more moisture up here tonight!

Maybe so... glancing at so many model runs becomes really subjective.    Don't get too angry about slightly different interpretations... there is lots of data to look at right now.

Terrible model, but I'll take it as something to hope for. Currently 25F and falling, if we do get some heavier stuff later on it will be of the high ratio variety.

Portland is about where it should be according to most model runs in the last 24 hours. That's the problem with borderline situations like this. A degree or two isn't much as far as accuracy goes, but it can mean a whole hell of a lot if it's the difference between snow and rain. It should keep cooling down through the night, your main issue will likely be getting moisture after it gets cold enough to snow.

Not really. If we had some heavy precip it’d drop pretty efficiently but with weak southerly flow it tends to just dink around.

The radar is really blowing up to my south now.  Currently light snow and 33.

 

After the much better GFS run I was shocked to see how lame the WRF ended up.  At any rate the radar say the WRF is full of it.

I loved it, no one reasonable wants to deal with icy roads when they have to work. Fingers crossed it's the start of a trend!
