Kayla
That is, in fact, the greatest departure I have ever seen on a NWS daily climate report. Believe it or not, back on March 4th of this year the Bozeman Airport had a -53.7 degree departure with a -4/-39 day. It's really remarkable and unheard of to see two historic air masses during the same year during transition season (Spring/Fall) putting out those massive temp departures. 1 Quote Cold Season 2023/24: Total snowfall: 26" Highest daily snowfall: 5" Deepest snow depth: 12" Coldest daily high: -20ºF Coldest daily low: -42ºF Number of subzero days: 5 Personal Weather Station on Wunderground: https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMTBOZEM152#history

Really this fall has been nothing like 2002. October 2002 was fairly torchy leading up to the late month events, this one will end up the coldest in decades. Phil
It's a bit ironic, when last winter you were arguing to the end that it was going to be neutral, and it ended up being a weak Nino. The inverse of this year, perhaps. I didn’t think last year would pull it off, but I was open to the possibility. This year would be somewhat more borderline but the system state does favor it.
