OKwx2k4
@ OK- WX ..... Looks like some interesting t storms in your area or about to move in?Yeah. Getting pretty interesting here. T-storms and then time to get socked in for a couple of days. Tornadoes spinning up out west right now.
Stormhunter87
Got a buddy down by Joplin so watching those storms for sure. Edit: also got flakes flying now.
OmahaSnowFan
Not liking the radar trends at least up here in northwest Omaha at least. Pretty easy to see that heavier snow is going to stay south of me and maybe clip the southern metro. Edit: according to reports on RadarScope in the last 30 minutes, it was still sleet, ice pellets down south where the heavier returns are. Hawkeye
I went to lunch and when I left the building it was raining. I was not expecting any precip until about 4pm. The temperature is 30º, so freezing is occurring on some metal surfaces. The ground, of course, is still way too warm after yesterday. Just in the last few minutes it has begun to switch to sleet. 2 Quote season snowfall: 34.8" '22-23: 30.2" '21-22: 27.1" '20-21: 52.5" '19-20: 36.2" '18-19: 50.2" '17-18: 39.5" Average snowfall: ~30"

badgerwx
NWS La Crosse going with a long duration Winter Weather Advisory for me. Talking 5 to 8" from tonight through tomorrow night at midnight. 35 mph winds and possible light glaze of ice. I guess it's better than nothing! Was really hoping for a WSW!
mlgamer
The trend in the models is the second wave is going to miss me to the south and east. NWS forecast has 90% chance of snow, heavy at times tomorrow and we won't see a flake. In other words...SSDD <_> Quote 23-24 seasonal snow total: 17.8" (as of 3/9/24)

Iowawx
It started raining in Cedar Rapids about an hour ago. Roads have mostly just been wet so far. Precip has changed to light sleet right now.
Hawkeye
Now that the HRRR and NAM have caved east with wave 2, we may only be able to get a few inches of snow, at best. Models really juiced up and expanded wave 1, but now the HRRR seems to be backing off of that, too. MIKEKC
Wow! From 5-10 inches in KC in many runs leading up to today to some struggling to get to an inch of snow tomorrow. EURO/NAM totally flipped today, less then 24 hours out from the snow part of the storm. Hopefully they are wrong and the 18z HRR is correct which still shows the 4-6 inch band. Nothing is a guarantee in the world of snow.
dubuque473
Made it to Indiana and back in 8hrs 5 minutes. Weather was great except for Chicago, very misty, light rain coming down.
