TT-SEA
Despite looking more troughy on Sunday... the ECMWF still shows a dry and mild weekend. Early next week looks more troughy as well and Monday is quite wet on this run. Jesse
The models have trended toward cutting that late week ULL so far to the SW that it opens the door for chilly systems to drop down on the region in NNW flow by the latter half of the weekend. Prairiedog
All U of Wyoming dorm students have to e out of their dorms by April 5. On top of that our daughter came down with Mono and is too sick to fly so yep, on our way to Laramie in the early morning to pick her up. We'll drive to Jerome ID day one, then to Laramie, day two so a marathon run. What will make this trip memorable is that from when we leave Salt Lake City and travel up through Park City on day two we will be heading into the teeth of a pretty good snowstorm. 3-6" of blowing and drifting snow., gusts to 30. I guess this will be my chance to enjoy what I didn't get to this winter. This could be interesting. I'm good at driving in snow but the blowing and drifting will make it a little white knuckle. We'll see how far we get Thurs. 4-wheel drive Tahoe should git er done. Just don't drop the hiway gates on me. 56f in Laramie today. I'll try to run in front of the camera on Friday. Timmy Supercell
I'm back home now. Did I miss a thunder/snow earlier? At 5pm KLMT recorded 39 and thunder, then snow at 6pm. snow_wizard
Kind of interesting to see the models trending very slowly toward the troughing next week digging more directly over us instead of off the coast. Pretty possible we will see another round of continental cold sometime in the next two weeks with the persistent GOA blocking. The real kicker would be if the PV collapses and gets driven toward us with the high amplitude blocking. Quote Death To Warm Anomalies! snow_wizard
Monday morning was certainly a disppointment.
