Popular Post AlTahoe
Last year on this date we were forecast to get 4"+ of rain with snow levels at 8k. I had sandbagged the garage in the morning and after 15 minutes of rain it turned over to snow. Everyone in town was confused and then the NWS said a rare Tonopah low had formed and lowered snow levels down to 4k. We picked up 31" of very heavy wet snow as the temp hovered around 33F. Power was out for the entire basin and all roads in and out of town were closed for 28 hours. Most side streets were blocked with stuck cars. one of the worst storms I have gone through here. 6

I appreciate that. I like that many post model charts and point out things on a run that I may not have, or others. There are a lot of people here who break things down really well and provide analysis. Phil too! Yeah, why bother stirring the post? We are here all year, well some of us. Some of us like to show up during the Fall and Winter. You see the familiar faces, you build a rapport with others. I know sometimes I've chimed in when there are issues here because I just don't understand why there ever needs to be. I do like the sarcasm and friendly banter too. Yeah sorry about disappearing. When we are at the precipice of an event or if its just underway it becomes so incredibly hectic, chaotic, and well, FUN in my FB group it's so hard to do both over on the Forum too. I've tried. It can become exhausting. When I do post the 00z runs here just about every evening I'm doing so in both. That I can handle. Making the 10 Day GIFs take a bit more time. To make things easier we switch the group settings to [Snow Mode] so that only Admins can post in the group. Then we create a number of threads specific to Conditions/Observations, Snow Pics/Videos, Road Reports, etc. If we didn't lol the group page you'd never be able to find any posts. The format on this forum is much better in that regard in my opinion so you can keep track of things a lot better. I hope we have some fun events ahead and we all score some Cold and SNOW! C'MON!!!! 8
