Solid light snow here in Mountlake Terrace the last 30 minutes or so. Not enough to be close to sticking, but plenty of flakes to watch fluttering down. My class is excited. We've been watching the models since last Friday and talking about the different possibilities. They suggested we all get on a boat with big fans on it and try to blow the storm North.

Some snow starting to pop up around Skagit/Whatcom county. That might be the start of the actual Arctic front snow.

Meanwhile the wife reports some very wet snow is starting to come down at home as the CZ has moved north a bit.

Awesome and thanks for the video!  Glad you’re out in the environment while these events take place.  It sucked back in my day going to work “Costco “. No windows 😡.  Hated going into the box and miss moments like what is playing out today.
So glad I’m retired now and can enjoy these events

Yeah, it popped up about 2 miles or so south of me, looking out my south facing window right now, and its blue skies straight up, and thick grey clouds taunting me as they billow up and move away.

Lynden down to 27 degrees. Temp dropped 10 degrees in the last hour when the outflow started there.

That is a large shift this close, But is it low placement or increased strength?

Deformation precip always seems to expand north.

Just a little slush sticking so far but yeah I’m glad I get to experience some snow today if it doesn’t work out this evening in Tacoma. I’m keeping the faith though it will!

Looks at that snow squall up North of Nanaimo. Where the outflow boundary meets the NW flow down the strait of Georgia. That area can get crushed with this setup at times.

No it’s just about to enter Bellingham. Not that far south yet.

What’s with the gradient in dewpoint depressions?

Interestingly... the ECMWF did not shift north with the low position from its 00Z run.   Jus spread precip farther north.

Snowing pretty good here now... but radar shows it might be lifting north soon.    Still 35 degrees.
