Hope to be able to actually contribute some information once it's up and running. If anyone has any tips on where to set it up for the most accuracy, I'd appreciate it. I'm right up against a steep hillside and surrounded by trees on three sides so I think the wind data will be largely useless. I am, however, excited to learn exactly how much annual rain we receive (90"+?) Sounds like my place! Anemometer on top of house as high as you can get it and away from any obstructions. Mine is between 6-7 feet above the roofline....just found it useless to go any hire with the tall trees. It is what it is with the hill and the trees. Just best you can do. The rest should be down around 5 feet off the ground in open area. Again work with what you have. If the unit is all one piece everything on the roof....at least that’s what I did in the past. Also keep in mind sprinklers.....when you water in the summer to make sure rain gauge is out of reach of these. My personal struggle right now with mine is the rain gauge....only place I can put it is between my neighbors house and mine. So tunneling winds give me inaccurate readings

I have enjoyed my Ambient since the install 1 day before the February 2019 festivities commenced...The light index sensor quit working a few months ago but otherwise it has performed flawlessly. I am also surrounded by trees so the wind accuracy is not there which sucks but there is nothing that can be done for that.
