TT-SEA
9 minutes ago, bainbridgekid said: Summer 2019 was pretty cool here in Everett. July and August only had 6 highs of 80 or higher and July averaged 67/57. Just checked... July 2019 averaged 74/54 out here and that was a little cooler than normal. What really stood out that month was days with rain... 14 days with rain compared to a normal of 7 in July. We never needed to water the lawn or garden that summer for the first time in 15 years here. Jesse
Just now, bainbridgekid said: I definitely enjoy that aspect of our climate here. We seem to get plenty of sunshine in the Summer but temps are noticably cooler than even Seattle most days. Even the really hot days are usually only in the mid-upper 80's and we cool off at night pretty well. And to be fair, I was gone almost that whole Summer in Hawaii and Europe, but I remember coming back and my roommates said they'd barely turned on the AC. This Summer it was on almost every day. I think it was pretty close to summer 2020 temperature wise. Definitely a lot more active though. The thunderiest and rainiest summer since 2013. Definitely felt cool after the 2013-18 period though. At SLE in 2020 it was the 45th warmest June, 34th warmest July, 21st warmest August, and 13th warmest September. That is out of 129 years, so warmer than about 3/4 of the summers on record at SLE, but the June-August period was the coolest since 2012 at that location. It still amazes me that October 2019 was the 3rd coldest at SLE behind 1919 and 1949. Add to that it was the 3rd driest November behind only 1936 and 1929, and well... It had something those other 4 years did not have. A dud winter that followed. I was just having a hard time seeing what was so "amazing and possibly historic" about the run. But now that you explained it, I see your point. That said, I still wouldn't call it "amazing and possibly historic." Sure, there is potential but it just doesn't look that spectacular to me. But thats just my opinion. It's okay we can agree to disagree. I should have not been so vague as well.
