At this point I am expecting a cold and stormy April and May. I can't believe after 90 straight days of ridging we wouldn't have some sort of breakdown. In the worst of the drought years May would usually be cold and wet for us. Hoping for the same thing or our fire season will start next week.

Ended up being a pretty chilly weekend. 47/32 Saturday with 0.64” of rain. Had some flurries yesterday morning, but no measurable precip, a 43/32 day.

June 2015 was still the warmest June, but Summer 2021 was the warmest at many sites.

I was actually surprised KLMT avoided any record months last year, but both June and July came in second place to 2015 and 2014.

Seems like pretty typical spring weather the next few weeks. Some warm days, some rain, etc... Been a pretty normal and boring March so far, let's keep it going.

If last nights euro is right spring is still not really in full swing yet. Still some decent lowland rain/mountain snow makers through the end of the month. We’re currently 0.5 degrees below normal for the month…and could get close to or hit normal rainfall for March.

Looks like I will just need to delay working in the yard then

Wet out and 46*

Most people understand that it rains a little in March. Don't worry, but May we will be embarking on our annual 120+ day dry streak.

Not saying its not normal.     Spring is often quite depressing here per climo... looking forward to any breaks we can get.    As usual.

And every station in the SEA NWS area is running significantly wetter than normal for the water year.   Not even close to normal up here.

I really hope we don't have a third year of this La Nina! This La Nina has been more brutal than previous La Ninas for some reason, bringing historic levels of dryness to CA. CA is often drier than normal during La Nina, especially across the southern half of the state, but this season has been beyond ridiculous in terms of EXTREME dryness, as even the north has been extremely dry!

Yeah... probably another year in which all the rain is focused on BC and western WA coming up.   Just as tired of it as you are down there.

I think the NW part of Washington, including Tim's backyard, has been the only part of the entire western half of the continental U.S. that has had near or above normal precipitation this season. Everyone else has been either below normal or WAY below normal!

Meanwhile, California has just had its driest January and February statewide and March hasn't been much better so far.

SW BC... Western WA... and NW OR has been wetter than normal.    Just endless ridging over CA which in turn focuses all of the rain up here.   It is what it is.   Sure would it would change.

From Cliff Mass... no water issues up here at all.   In fact we have had to dump water into the ocean to avoid overflowing the dams.   In stark contrast to the rest of the West.    Sure would be nice to get into a pattern with the storm track through CA which is usually pretty dry and nice up here.

Remind this dood that the 2010-2012 La Ninas were both wet in southern Oregon on both snow/rain. I think traditional La Ninas don't for the most part dump on WA and areas south of Mt. Hood go right into drought.

You my friend would be right. It's been more average here. This winter slightly above, last winter was slightly above too, then we had a record dry spring. Snow pack was actually better at this point last year... Then the aforementioned dry spring.
