The deformation band is taking it's sweet time getting here, for sure it's a slow mover. I hope it stalls right over PDX Metro!

Just a quick update as I am returning from the Bellingham airport and stopped at my work for a few min, snowing here and sticking on all the colder surfaces. Heading home now, will be interesting to see if I have anything.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Looks like Tim's call of a blowout in the 'hawks game will come to fruiton, just not the way he expected.

On another note, light snow/graupel mix here.

I was right!   I think I just said the game would be a blow-out.  Too tired to check.  :)

Left Mountlake Terrace around 2:15 just as the parking lot was starting to turn white.

Positive splat test all the way to the waterfront in downtown Seattle, but didn't see any accumulations along I-5.

18z is DRAMATICALLY wetter for tomorrow for the Puget Sound region.

Not sure I've ever seen such a huge difference less than 24 hours out. From basically nothing to over 0.5" across most of the region.

Unfortunately the air has really moistened up from the band today, so it will be tough to get any more evaporative cooling.

Hope to see a lot of maps and pictures posted. It sounds like a lot of you will see some decent accumulations and there is a significant chance for another snow or cold event in the coming week.

I've been excited about the pool of cold that was making its way in the models, but it sounds like it will be west based.

All we needed was for one weenie to move to the east coast and we are set for the winter. ;)

Just got home, looks like it snowed a bit since my steps were snow covered! 32 degrees and a very light rain/snow mix falling.

That little vortmax is just the little engine that could. It drifts up to around QCI then starts drifting south next week. Goofy s**t.

When... and where is QCI?

Seems like it broke off the cold trough that moved through a couple days before New Years, and it's kind of just drifting around now.

May be a bit too warm for a ice storm here. 31 and raining with sleet mixed in, but only some plants are actually getting a little bit of ice.

The fact that DPs are still in the mid 20s at PDX tells me it could drop a couple more degrees with precip moving in.
