Boy, that radar is starting to get close to Seattle.  About 40 more miles.

I am now on the edge of the precip shield here and the moon is shining.

Yeah but all the snow in Portland is going to melt in 2-3 days so the novelty doesn't even last. I'd much rather live in Bozeman with moderate snowpack all winter where the threat of above freezing temps stay away 98% of the winter season.

Agree 100%. And of course this will most likely end up being a 20 year storm. So not something you see very often here that's for sure!

Cold Season 2023/24:

Total snowfall: 26"

Highest daily snowfall: 5"

Deepest snow depth: 12"

Coldest daily high: -20ºF

Coldest daily low: -42ºF

Number of subzero days: 5

Outflow was in the 40's gusts in the mid 50's this afternoon with a nice brisk 27. Sharpest wind of the winter. I'm really over this winter already.

Just imagine if that low had come in a couple hundred miles further north.. those 50mph gusts would be whipping around gobs of snow and you'd have snow drifts halfway up your house...

According to Mark N., it should have started lightly snowing by now. LoLoLoLoLoLoLoLoL

I love it when the models and mets are wrong, and it results in a major win for us!

I was surprised too at how early it started. I knew though right when it started snowing here mid afternoon that we would see snow earlier than expected.

Dry slot should begin to move across the valley soon. Then the real fun begins.

Relative to 35dbz convective showers coming from southwest with full on storm conditions it will definitely feel like a dry slot, but I don't think most of metro will go all the way dry. There is definitely 15-20dbz worth of backfill everywhere.

I remember a model or two that showed something like that a few days ago...just depressing. I'm selfish when it comes to snow, wish everyone down south was getting rained on like it did to us this morning. Hopefully Oregon gets shafted for the next five years like what the majority of western Wa has had to endure while we get buried up here!! And that is going to start in two weeks! Enjoy it now PDX...you are about to enter a major snow drought hahahahahaha.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!
