Euro ensembles and weeklies are nice too. As well as some of the snowfall maps from the NAM models and others. It's borderline worth the money for the few winter months for me.

850mb "ambient" temps are 1C, but clearly lower locally here in the valley, since it's well snowing(wet). Don't think I've got any new accumulation since about 3" this morning, maybe airport will report differently.

 

Also had a best day of riding lift-served skiing today since '13-14' season, local hill get 10" at the base and 18" at top overnight.

 

I think we can go to normal spring weather, but if this happens again for a few more days i won't mind

Cold air is definitely winning the battle right now. Only 22º and dropping currently down here in Bozeman and we also had a couple of inches of snow this morning. Will be interesting to see how fast things scurry out tonight.

Finally switched over to rain. Airport got 3" from 4pm to 4pm, maybe another inch since 4pm before switching over. Up to 63.5". I'm guessing my backyard is either at 5' or just a tad short(no measurements ever made, since I get a lot of snow).

I've seen this before and maybe IbrChris or Jaya can chime in on this but if I'm correct I believe what this image shows could be Orographic Forced NBB precipitation.
