jaster220
I decided to grade my Winter here in MBY w a D. Very poor Winter indeed. December was lost. First 3 weeks of January went down the drain. Action began a little towards the end of the Month and into Feb (most of the month, but small amounts of snow and 2 decent ones). I was neva in a WSW all Winter, just WWA. The two storms that gave me 8"+, was a WAA and not a WSW. Also, NOAA did a terrible job on forecasting snowstorms in SEMI this year. Agree with the bolded 100%. While my total snow fall is a bit above average, it was due to the epic and unusually snowy Nov. As for DJF, with the multiple torch-offs of any decent snow depths leading to only 27 days of 1"+ snow cover this is undoubtedly the worst snow cover winter since perhaps the horrid '88-89 winter. Since I'm not at all a fan of the mega-cold PV visit stuff, my grade for DJF as a whole may be closer to a "D-". Tho admittedly, that may be skewed by having experienced a string of really good winters lately. This winter if it happened back in the mid-90's may have been seen as "decent" by those standards. Or so I hear, as I was in NMI getting buried back then. 1 Quote Winter 2023-24 Snow Total = 53.1" (90% Normal Season) Largest Storm: 12" (1/12-13) Oct: 0.1 Nov: 2.9 Dec: 7.5 Jan: 31.7 Feb: 6.0 Mar: 4.3 Apr: 0.1 Avg = 59.2" (Harrison): 2023-24 = 53.1" Avg = 45.0" (KDTW): 2022-23 = 33.5" 2021-22 = 35.6" Avg = 49.7" (KRMY): 2020-21 = 36.2" 2019-20 = 48.0" 2018-19 = 56.1" 2017-18 = 68.3" 2016-17 = 52" 2015-16 = 57.4" 2014-15 = 55.3" 2013-14 = 100.6" (coldest & snowiest in the modern record!) 2012-13 = 47.2" 2011-12 = 43.7" Legit Blizzards (high winds and dbl digit snows): Feb 2011, Dec 2009, Jan 2005, Dec 2000, Jan 1999, Mar 1998, Nov 1989, Jan 1982, Jan 1978, Jan 1977, Apr 1975, Mar 1973, Jan 1967, Feb 1965, Jan 1918

Minny_Weather
Snow is already mostly gone here. Areas where it drifted during the blizzard still have a few inches down but there is plenty of exposed grass as well. I'd expect everything but piles to be gone by the end of the storm Wednesday. Un-disturbed piles may be around until April with how big they are. 1 Quote Formerly *ahem*: LNK_Weather, TOL_Weather, FAR_Weather, MSP_Weather, IMoveALot_Weather. East Dubzz
I can’t wait for the snow to finally melt. I’m amazed how much we still have around, but these warm spells just haven’t been warm out to truly nuke it all. Thankfully that’ll be changing here these next few days. Let’s start inching towards that golfing weather.. Up to 30 here so far today and sunny. Should help take a nice chunk out of the snowpack.

gimmesnow
50s tomorrow and Thursday and 50 for a LOW wed nite Same here, going to be some total carnage on my ski hill. It's the last week though, probably. They usually don't keep going past St. Pat's day because people stop showing up, even if there's enough base left. The end of season has been a lot better than last year, that's for sure. I remember we had that warm and rain at the end of Feb, they lost the entire top of the hill and they blew more snow to save it. Hopefully the rain under-performs. It's end of season sales on snowboard stuff, I just bought a $419 snowboard for jibbing (riding on boxes, rails, etc) and jumping for $185. It comes Thursday or Friday, I'd like to ride it once or twice in the next 8 months.

East Dubzz
Just picked up a new rain gauge (which is attached to a thermometer), as well as a basic outdoor weather station where I just hang a sensor from a tree and it tells me temperature, pressure, humidity, etc. Figured I can get one of the most advanced weather stations when I move to an area that’s more accommodating to that. Winter storms are some of my favorite times of the year, but man I am ready for spring.
