Yeah, we stayed in Missoula last night. Almost to Bozeman now. It’s definitely gotten cloudier with a few sprinkles at times. Clouds started thickening up past Butte. Car thermo reads 72.

Nice. Looks like you'll past through the line just after the pass as you head into the Plains. We haven't had non convective rain in a while so that was nice to see at least. Up to 69 here now.

Enjoy your visit to the state!

No he doesn’t. He hates on snow and cold when it’s in the forecast too. He seems to like mild ridging in the winter better than anything else.

I could see that I guess. It’s been a while since I have been following him. I thought back in February he overstated the amount of snow and cold several times because he was worked up about he event itself verses the NWS which continually understated the events.

I will say, it looks really lovely and green out here for late July, with decent snow on the peaks still, and no smoke issues. Amazing the positive impact simply getting a non-scorching summer can have.

Then there's Sistek who is all about wet, wet, wet but seems to be meh on cold and snow. A lot of the local mets here are marginal on it.

Travis Knudsen seems to enjoy snow though.

Feels awesome. Coolest temperature I’ve experienced in at least 8 weeks.

Yeah, its been a beautiful summer that is for sure! The first half of this month was really wet which resulted in the greenest that I've seen in the 3 summers that I've been here.

Of course I've also heard a lot of people complaining that they want summer weather though and not spring but I think its been lovely!

Phil needs to smell some smoke before his West Coast trip is complete.

Already did in Leavenworth last year. I’ll pass, thx.

Im trying to think of local meteos who loved snow within the last 40 years. I think Jack Capell got pretty giddy when snow was in the forecast. Recently, I have noticed Matt Zaffino gets pretty excited.

About to walk through the neighborhood. I think today is dome buster’s day for a video mention.

Really liking how hot weather has been unable to get off the ground this summer.  We have a couple of hot days and then it crashes.  In spite of the July average temp being rather warm that is entirely due to the cloudy / warm nights we have seen.

Phil. You will probably just doctor someone else's video. Lol. We all know you are still back east.

Josh. Let me repeat my question from earlier. Does your daughter know of this little habit of yours, trolling around weather forums and making an absolute a** of yourself? No point in getting mad at other people when 90% of what you post here is inflammatory nonsense.

I was expecting some sort of cooldown last night like we typically get with a marine push, not so much with this airmass. Had a low of 60F but it quickly bounced back over 70F this morning. Last night it was hovering around 70F with strong SW winds, currently 73F with gusty SW winds. Can't remember the last time we had sustained onshore winds for this long without a significant cooldown.

What if I write “go fück yourself, Dome Buster” on a piece of paper, tape it to a Douglas Fir, and narrate the entire thing on video?

Will that convince you?

Drizzle has stopped and cloud base is rising a little bit w/ temps in the mid-60s. Wind seems to be N/NE 5-10mph judging by tree motion relative to the location of the obscured sun, but it’s varying.

Took this ~ 20 mins ago.

Some of the same “feeder” birds here as back east.

Those tiny chickadees and house sparrows appear to be the same species as the ones back home. Such voracious eaters.

Another absolutely gorgeous day in the south valley. A comfortable 80F out there and you can barely see the clouds well to the north.

I’d like to buy a cloud for 200 Alex. Been awhile since I’ve seen any.

Poor Alex probly won't be hosting Jeopardy much longer  :(

I would love a January 1980 repeat this winter. The major snowstorm that year down here in Portland really fascinates me.
