Jesse
Well according to this PDX hit 59 at 11:59pm. https://w2.weather.gov/climate/getclimate.php?date=&wfo=pqr&sid=PDX&pil=CLI That would mean that 2019 remains tied with 2015 (for now) UHI cancel!! Front Ranger
I was using Wunderground. Turns out NWS is showing a high of 52 for Wenatchee. Not record but still impressive. NWS is notoriously conservative, of course. They will very rarely forecast historic temps, even if model output shows that. 1 Quote A forum for the end of the world. Jesse
EPS is just a little slower to move things east early next week compared to the operational. snow_wizard
The best match I can find when looking at a mix of 500mb pattern and surface pressure gradient is early October 1985. In Landsburg that cold snap resulted in a 53-28 day. For the outlying areas in the Puget Sound region I'm going for... Coolest max temps = low to mid 50s Coldest low temps = upper 20s to low 30s. The NWS is certain to be too high. To look at their forecast one would think it's impossible to go below 40 this time of year. I have seen much less impressive patterns bring lows in the mid 30s here. I still think it could go even lower than these numbers given the details of the upcoming pattern. I wouldn't be shocked to see one night down to 35 here by midnight. 2 Quote Death To Warm Anomalies! snow_wizard
Jesse great or Tim great? Really incredible for this time of year. VancouverIslandSouth
Still haven't had a low below 52F here, with this upcoming "Arctic Blast" that streak could end.
