November 2019 Weather Discussion for the PNW

Know any resources to get 900 mb conditions? I was looking at 925s since it is the most available close to it.

 

Don't think there is any up to date analysis at that level. Just know the soundings all show the warm layer there between 850mb and 925mb. Fairly shallow.

Whether you admit it or not, you have gone more out of your way the last couple days to try and contradict things, for crying out loud you pulled maps from the 18z Euro out to make a point all of a sudden. The euro may be right but you don't usually do that.

I said yesterday that it would be earlier and snowier.

 

The 00Z GFS just came out.

 

We spent hours analyzing the low resolution 18Z NAM... but we should not mention the 00Z GFS for tomorrow?

lol, 2 days after my wedding I was in Cabo bummed that I missed the only snow that winter.

 

Gave me at least 3" in that event in Tanabourne area. No idea if that winter down here had anything good.

That seems a little funky. I would say downsloping, but the usual suspects like Battle Ground are still in the upper 30s. Maybe it's really localized.

I also sense the precip comes in earlier and the models are probably underestimating it. Seems like that was a common theme last winter.

If the GFS was much snowier... would have mentioned that as well. Did that last night right when it came out.

 

All goofy... people are all wrapped around axle about cold and snow so just reporting on the models will draw attacks. Its random. You don't know who is high as kite or had a really bad day. Comes with the territory. I don't sugar coat stuff.

There are a lot of "straight shooters" here that don't sugarcoat things, and they don't get half the flack. There's a lot more to it than that, but it is pretty funny the stories people can tell themselves.
