VancouverIslandSouth
The wind has been fairly consistent here the past few days, generally gusting around 20-25mph. It has seemingly been a very windy late spring and early summer. There were many negative comments about the weather at our Canada day gathering yesterday. By dinner time I had to bring out the winter jacket. At least it was dry though. It was agreed that nobody wanted the heat and humidity that the east has been seeing though. I noticed that Abbotsford had a high of 57F yesterday, that's got to be close-to if not a record low high for July 1st.

Front Ranger
I believe this same system is winding up again offshore to move into WA for the 3rd time in a week. It moved in last Friday night... got down to about Utah by Monday and then spent the last 3 days moving north through eastern WA and then through BC and is now back offshore and coming east. Anti Marine Layer
In Peru, most cities are too close to the Pacific Ocean (with the cold Humboldt current) or too high in elevation to take advantage of their tropical latitudes. TT-SEA
Update from Cliff Mass... it has been darker than normal up here. Not terribly unusual though. As I have said... climo in June and early July is often the most disappointing part of the year around here. https://cliffmass.blogspot.com/2020/07/a-dark-month-for-seattle.htmlLooking at the daily solar radiation numbers in Seattle, one notes some variation in the sunshine reaching the surface, with some decent amounts in mid-month. But the first half of June and the last week have been cloudy and dark.
