Last happened in 1991 in Vancouver. Remainder of that winter was basically a dud, IIRC.

FWIW it isn’t a humid heat this time, dews down to mid-60s. Makes a huge difference.

00Z Canadian smoke model does not show much over the next 3 days and still looks good over the weekend.    The NCEP smoke model only goes out through 48 hours but has not looked this good in a long time.

While all eyes have been on Lee in the Atlantic. Hurricane Jova in the Eastern Pacific Went from becoming a named storm to a category 5 hurricane in under 48 hours. Luckily it’s not headed towards land.

Playing Starfield has given me further fascination in knowing stellar cartographic concepts. It's realistic with which stars are closer to us and how it works. I love looking up at the clear sky and seeing the ones that are closer. Like Sirius and Procyon in the winter.

Ended up with a 77/47 spread yesterday. Some neat high clouds in the afternoon. Cloudier and milder this morning, low of just 56 so far. Weather is generally looking drier and warmer than average the next 7-10 days.
