I think their summers are pretty tolerable compared to some of eastern WA. I would guess average highs in the mid-80s, lows in the low to mid 50s.

I drive through there on way to cabin and I have seen over 100 on the truck many many times in that area.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

I went to the Lost Coast and Humboldt Redwoods last June for the first time. Incredible area. Cheap flight to Sacramento and a 3 hour drive. Hiking through the marine layer was fascinating, those forests are incredibly efficient at sucking water out of the fog.

The northernmost California coast, from about Mendocino northward, is my favourite part of California.

It's called clown range for a reason.

It gets really hot there, hope you love 100 degree weather!! They get some good snow, not as much as Leavenworth but more than Wenatchee for sure.

That’s what the locals tell me too. I always visited on our way to Chelan growing up, love the area. Glad the rental has AC!

It’s definitely more common than on the west side but also a heck of a lot better than somewhere like Pasco.

Wenatchee averages about 89/62 in July (their warmest month). I can’t find climate data for Cashmere but I’d probably knock off 2-3 degrees on the average high and 5-7 for the average low given the fact that they’re higher up, further west and outside of any sort of urban heat island around Wenatchee.

I went to Milton-Freewater last summer, I've been through Walla Walla, but have never approached from the south. Really a beautiful area, going into MF you think you've traveled back to the 1950s. Kind of a meh climate though. Up around Tollgate where we camped is much nicer from a climate perspective.

Funny you say that because about the only thing I remember about driving through MF was their sweet little drive-in theater.

We drove through there on the way back from a camping trip up the Tucannon River one time and I was impressed by what a quaint downtown they had. Waitsburg is kind of neat too if I’m remembering right.

Honestly not sure.  There is definitely potential for a wrinkle that brings widespread snow.

So is Western Oregon. We actually have a vineyard about a mile from my house towards the state park. Not sure how well grapes grow in this climate, but we do have reliably dry summers.

I used to think you were around 1100'. But it makes sense it seems like your area gets a lot more snow in Dec/Jan and we get a lot more in the mid-February-mid-April period.

200-300 feet elevation makes a huge difference out here near the foothills. I’m at 600 feet and I notice the snow covered trees regularly just above 1,000 feet. Frustratingly beautiful.

True, even places around 1200' get far less snow than we do here at 1600'.

Looks like Monday night is going to be the one to watch.  The dead zone between the Pacific and Arctic surface highs makes it to the Seattle area with cold mid levels and cold surface temps, and precip.  This is close to really good.

We just need that first trough to lock in for a day longer than what is currently shown for the real cold to get this far.  The trend toward sharper digging could result in that outcome on future runs.  As it is what is currently being shown should bring some snow for the Seattle area.

We just sold our home in Kent. Found a great rental in town, definitely excited for a change of pace. We’ll see how we’re feeling after the year lease, but yes we love the beauty of the area. This summer is going to be great ☀️

It's interesting all the hills and canyons in that area.  My wife is a hospice nurse, and sometimes visits patients with a Cashmere address, them finds out it's way out of town on some winding road through a canyon.

It's a very walkable town.  People I've known love to walk to the Sure to Rise Bakery downtown.  And if course Applets and Cotlets is downtown and CrunchPak.

There's a good museum there with cabins from the old days and the main museum.  You'll also find all the scarecrows during October that are dressed up as different characters.  It's also interesting to me how the vegetation is different there then here in Leavenworth, since there's a decent precipitation gradiant.

Wenatchee is pretty close for all the shopping (Costco and other box stores are in East Wenatchee but there is good shopping in Wenatchee as well).  And Leavenworth is 15-20 minutes away too.

Hope it works out for you.

Yeah, an extra day of stalling would be perfect, more cold and more snow! There's always a chance it'll happen, but at this point I will not count on it.

This'll be a fun week of model riding!
