Something weird is going on with this run. When I check 6 hr precip map it doesn’t match snow map.

Lots of precip overall!

12z ECMWF surface temperature loop and precip type loop. Precip type doesn't match well with snow maps, I would assume the precip type map is the one not working properly, but maybe it's the snow map.

Cold showery airmass with 42/34 type days in the lowlands. Snow maps end up looking pretty even though only sticking snow is likely during the heaviest showers or overnight precip. After a few days coverage and amounts end up looking pretty uniform across a wider area.

I’m happy with my 13.5”. It’s below average, but 11” of that fell within a week and barely melted for 12 days. So it felt like much more (for reference, the 3 feet that fell in Jan  2016 was gone within a week).

Also, it’s probably more than you’ll get this winter. ;)

I’ll give you this token winter. I have had between 20 and 40” every winter for the last 7 or so straight…And we will be right back to it next winter! 🥰

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

That mid-week atmospheric river looks like a jackpot, especially for the Cascades. It's rare to have a strong AR like that with the snow level remaining near 3,000 ft for the entire event (and then collapsing down to 1,000-1,500 ft in the postfrontal period later in the week). 3-6+ inches of SWE is a big deal in a bad snow year.

Remains to be seen if something will spin up in the right spot in the cold sector at the end of next week.

probably the last chance at snow for the lowlands this year (if it even happens). we aren't even at our El Nino winter average (34") yet.  currently at 26" ish.  yearly average around 50".  La Nina usually 55-60"+

Probably going to be a bottom 20 winter, need to check but records go back to the 1880s

That’s good! Beneath the friendly trolling, I’ve always meant it when I say I’m happy for anyone that sees snow. It’s a precious commodity these days. I wish you guys could read my mind so you’d see that I legitimately pull for you all every winter.

I’m just messing with Randy because he’s in the screw zone after trolling me relentlessly for years. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in this lifetime it’s that karma takes no prisoners.

Yup I’m hoping for things to continue like they have so we don’t have to constantly deal with “well Randy will get 6”” comments that just aren’t true. According to some folks on here he has 4’ of snow because any pattern will dump on him despite not being true.

I wish and hope everyone gets snow with the upcoming pattern.

With that being said I’m only confident Mossman will see significant snow. Karma doesn’t exist.

Pretty amazing how the EPS has gone to emphasizing the second trough now.  We could easily see that get even better.
