Gorgeous sunset from Mt Tabor park. Lots of big, downed trees on the north and east side of the park from our ARCTIC WINDS three weeks ago. But honestly the damage wasn’t quite as bad as I feared. I guess the historic shelter took a pretty good hit but that part of the park was cordoned off.
I was intrigued so I looked up the average high and low temperatures across WA for August of 1899. Olga's average low of 45F is pretty impressive as it's about 4 degrees colder than anything we've seen in the last 50 years. The fact it's so much colder than every other location on the west side does make me wonder if there was an error with the thermometer at that time or maybe it was just incredible cold winds blowing off the straight.
The Seattle average high for the month was almost 10 d
People just don't understand Trump's humor. I am 99.9% sure he knew that was hyperbolic when he said it. His way of saying he's going to do such a great job he will fix a lot of stuff.
No A/C at the Coast Hotel in Downtown Seattle and no rooms to switch after a week in BC. I think it was the end of the Toronto series so hotels were pretty full. It was bad. We were supposed to stay in Seattle two nights but canceled night two and stayed at some midrange hotel in Seatac, maybe closer to South Center and it was so much better having A/C. On the bright side Starlight from SF Area to Seattle, Cascades to Vancouver, and time on the island was nice.
Oddly enough my future wife was in CA about to be broken up with by her ex.
Back to that day. My favorite picture was one with a dog by the fountain and that morning's paper said "hottest day ever?" Of course it has now been broken.
