Looking at NAM this band is 4 hours ahead of schedule and stronger

Not 4 hours.   It showed it hitting SW King County between 7-9 p.m.

Couldn’t tell if that feature was the current one. Does look a little farther north than modeled. Ready for it to stall and dissipate just south of me.

Were you in the area that scored big time in 2019? The last storm gave a foot of concrete only a few miles east of us while we just missed out. One of the worst misses I can remember, not that I can complain about Feb 2019 as a whole!

Ravensdale had 30+ inches in 2019. There was a strong cut off a few miles west.

I think it's northward progress is slowing down now.

I hate to complain but this year every direction around me within a short distance has had accumulating snow. East west north and south.

We’ve probably probably got close to an inch with this band. Pretty crazy how intense that was.

Easily the heaviest snow since Dec 2021.  It was puking here for a while.

Winding down now.  It was only able to accumulate to 0.8" because the snow was so wet.  Still a very impressive snow shower though.  Interestingly the snow was drier early in the event when it was about 36 than it is now with a temp of 33.  Dry air is so crucial sometimes, and the air eventually became saturated.

We didn’t get skunked!

If be nice if we got a few more of those this evening. Would easily add up.

We’ve got a solid inch. This snow was so “sticky” it was weird

Not going to lie that one stung for sure being just a few miles away. I think the precip moving in is too light to really bring down the snow level here. 37 and raining here. I didn’t expect much the past few nights but this one had potential.

I feel for you man.  I've been missed on both sides before and it does sting.

I was getting the same vibe. Really loved that storm.

Losing the wind tonight really helped us tonight.  Brisk winds anywhere from SW around to east are just toxic here.

Anyone have the latest Euro low temps for tonight/overnight?

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

26 currently with a light flurry. Snow stopped for a bit but its starting again and should be coming down good pretty soon here. Up to about 5" of fresh snow, which means the 1-4" forecast is already a bust, and we haven't even gotten the bulk of our snow yet! Glad I was finally right for forecasting high snow totals, I'm still sticking with my 7-16" forecast from earlier.

You were included in the WWA but 4-8” was more your forecast total according to the AFD. Still think it’ll bust low.

I have some snowmobile friends back there and they are not happy, said winter sucked bad.

I remember seeing this on the news. This was 2 months ago but 122 ice fishermen got stranded on the largest Minnesota inland lake. They didn’t realize they were on thin ice due to the unseasonably warm winter. Luckily everyone survived.

‘The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office said 122 fishermen were stranded when the ice floe detached from the main shoreline on Upper Red Lake.

Thirty feet of open water separated the ice floe from the shore, according to the sheriff's press release.

On Thursday, Col. Rodmen Smith, director of the DNR Enforcement Division warned citizens of "unseasonably warm weather" with very few areas of the state having the ice thickness that's typical this time of year.’

Still hammering the South half of Seattle but it's progress North has slowed to a crawl. Good news for those getting hit but I doubt it moves North past Shoreline at all.

Yeah... I think it's reached its northern extent as the trough is moving SE through southern WA.

The snow level is about 250 ft with this band. I’m at 150’ in West Seattle so I’ve been mostly rain with occasional snow when the precip rate picks up a bit.

0.30” in the bucket now which is crazy over-performance.

I'll be very surprised if the top of West Seattle didn't get about 2". It goes up over 500 feet there.

Surprised you aren't getting precip. Looks like we are on the northern edge of the precip shield from the system going into Southern Oregon. We've had light snow the past hour or so.
