Somebody got blasted... Imagine 30" in a day. We can barely do that over the course of a few weeks in these parts.

Not to throw cold water on the possible snow event but just remember we’re talking about the gfs here. I’d be more inclined to believe it if it weren’t on its own. Definitely has a cold bias.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit considering how the initial low tracks just south of KSEA and N/NW'ly flow on the backside giving some decent upslope flow to Sequim, Port Angeles westward.

I have some family that lives near Blue mountain, if the GFS is correct, I'm going up there over the weekend in anticipation.

(Would be my first time "outside" since testing positive for COVID)

Our county has been going through a "spike" but so far this family has been testing negative thankfully. Still there's been bugs passing around and it goes right to my stomach usually.

Try as much as you can to get outdoors, it helps to make me stronger. I'm just hoping that next time something noteworthy happens snow wise, that I'm not stuck inside a bathroom for several hours nauseous. lol Off and on since before Thanksgiving I've been doing that every 7-10 days or so.

Good thing the 12z Euro agrees, to a certain extent!

Perhaps not quite as much snow as the GFS but nice to see them both showing something for that timeframe.

Now I’m more inclined to believe it now that the gfs isn’t on its own. It’s still pretty borderline though. I won’t be here either way if it does send some pics!

Monday's storm system is certainly very interesting and bares watching, but experience tells us those situations are EXTREMELY difficult to thread the needle on. Especially during the day. We would rely on the exact right track for the storm and very heavy precip to get us down to about 34 degrees to see sticking snow. 9 times out of ten that situation doesn't quite workout.

I am a bit shocked actually, over the least 30 hours I have improved dramatically. The most severe symptoms have waned considerably, I am still a bit weak but overall I feel great compared to 9 days ago.

The main issue I'm "dealing" with is the lethargy and constant fatigue, I am so tired and want nothing more than to sleep but in lieu of the other major symptoms I had been dealing with, this pales in comparison.

My Dr. has given me three different inhalers to help with the issues related to my asthma and the associated COVID related complications but according to him, I have the worst of it behind me but a long road to full recovery. My Dr. also indicated to me that my COVID exposure "may" push me into a more severe category of asthma but only time will tell.

Other than that I find myself to be very lucky considering how bad it has been for others, I do not wish this type of illness, and pain on anyone.

I am thankful to be on the "mend" and hope that I have no long lasting effects as a result.

Stay safe guys, please.

I’m confused by some of the comments in here. The Euro was actually the first model to show any kind of potential next week. The GFS was never completely on its own.

But yes, as I said earlier this is as borderline as it gets and small changes could destroy low level snow very quickly.

Also remember like Brian in Leavenworth keeps saying...It doesn’t take a massive arctic event to get clobbered with snow...Especially this time of the year!

12z Euro details for Monday between 1-7PM for Puget Sound...

Surface temps: mid/upper 30s

925mb temps: -1c

850mb temps: -2/-5c

Euro does show fairly brisk N winds down the Sound instead of the onshore/southerly winds that the GFS shows, but those are still pretty much the definition of borderline parameters for snow.

As Bainbridge said, this event would require fairly intense precip to bring about an fairly isothermal column.  Threading the needle...

True, but the GFS is starting to emerge as the alpha once again after a couple days of things pinballing around a bit.  Given its track record last winter it seems like a familiar path in the short/mid range.

Yeah, much more potent system and overall much further west than the Euro, considering we're less than 5 days out.
