Really good trends the past 24 hours towards a cooler regime. Let's see if we can continue this momentum.

Low of 42 and 0.05” so far in Tacoma this morning. Over 5.5” of rain for the month.

0.00” so far on the day, 7.16” for the month, and 60.96” for the year.

Looks great. Definitely some west coast ridging starting to emerge toward the end as on the GFS ensemble. Don’t like to see that, but still a ways out.

The S wind melted quite a bit of snow yesterday but looks like there’s about 3” left. 37F and cloudy this morning

12 is not as good as the 06z, but not terrible.

Close to 9”.  Sounds like they had 11” towards the south end of the lake.

Again shows a very suppressed low on the 5th/6th. Not much cold air to work with but will be something to watch.

1/ I published this table in my blog December 7 but it may be Twitter friendly. It presents my expectations during different active energy transfer from the troposphere to the stratosphere as we are observing currently. The row highlighted in yellow is currently most appropriate.

The 12z GFS once again ends in a good place.  The pattern is locking with above normal heights over the GOA.  The 12z ensemble is pretty chilly for early January as well.  Maybe things are coming together.

Wound up with 0.16” back home. Looks like we could get some interesting weather down here in central texas Tuesday-Thursday. Some thunderstorms and maybe some snow Wednesday night.
