I think so. Probably day after day of storms blowing up somewhere in the region as little ripples set them off. Too early to know more than that but it is often the case that storms will work their way south each day as the effectively boundary moves south. We had a stretch or two last year with 4-5 days in a row of storms in similar patterns.
Downtown Portland is nice for anomalies and historical records because the area has obviously been well-developed for awhile.
Regardless, I wasn't commenting on the "pay for" argument. Just that it's been a pretty darn normalish spring temp-wise in your area, especially when one looks beyond PDX's ridiculous outlier anomalies.
