Today was an adventure.  I had clear blue skies, pouring sideways rain, gusty bursts of wind, heavy pelting hail, and it all ended in a blue sky day with massive clouds in the distance towards the mountains and a beautiful sunset!  Wowie!

Wowzers!  Ryegrass is currently at 32 degrees with west winds gusting to 50.  That is some bloody cold onshore flow!  All in all the next week looks truly exceptional for this late.  Can't wait to see what kind of numbers we put up.

The WRF has a really nice heavy slug of moisture moving through here late tomorrow night and dropping 3-4". I think the likelihood this happens is quite small (even if the precip comes I can't imagine it will be cold enough) and the NWS seems to agree as they've removed any discussion of snow/rain mix from the forecast.

06z NAM is dynamic as all hell for Oregon. Decently deep low with tight gradients and strong winds on its SW flank, and a ripping bent-back occlusion to its west, bringing in snowfall. Eugene would have heavy snow and blowing winds if this verified. In April.

The NAM/ECMWF really want to just blast N/C Oregon and leave W. Wa essentially cold/dry.

GFS on its own again.

Funniest part of this is that you have the link to the SEA AFD saved as 'Tim'.    You always participate in the PNW discussion so it makes that have that link saved... but its apparently its just for me.  😃

April and May should have a few notable severe wx outbreaks if 2011 is an analog ;)

Eastern Kentucky should start getting active anytime.

Pretty insane how the euro and gfs show lowland snow being a threat several nights in a row on their latest runs…in mid April.

Well it definitely is NO April 2016 in the northwest, some might have forgotten how amazing of a pattern it was for thunderstorms east of the cascades middle of that Spring. Every week in that season featured some sort of warm-core t'storms. That year holds both my earliest occurrence for a warm thunder (April 3rd) and my personal record number of thunders in any April I've seen (FIVE, and if you count storms within a 30 mile radius, NINE days).
