Snow North of the red line and rain South. Seems like this line is slipping South more than moving North though as the low continues to move ESE.

As expected the ECMWF was pretty ridiculous on the south winds this morning.  We'll see if this translates to a surprise for the Seattle area.

Interesting that Everett quickly dropped to 28 with the N winds. If the winds switch, this could be quite nice.

Genuinely fascinated by what's happening this morning! I must be somewhere in the exact middle between other Kitsap folks reporting here, because what's falling definitely sounds heavier than rain. It sounds like hail? 

I think we got about two inches of snow before things started melting out there early this morning. But our temp is down to about 31 degrees, so maybe we'll see things switch back to snow soonish.

Yeah....I think this is ahead of schedule.  Models pushed the warm air too far north, so it doesn't have so far to travel to get back south.

Looks like both station near me are down to 36 from a peak of 37. mPing shows snow reports right on the Snohomish/King county line in Shoreline. C'mon!!

You might have a little sleet if you are near the boundary of cold.

That makes sense! You can probably safely put Gorst-ish as on the boundary line, then, or close to it. Because it's definitely a wintry mix out there, not just pure rain.

The heavy stuff over Seattle right now is due to converging winds…. Loop shows the northerlies are winning it seems with snow line sinking SE. The switch may happen sooner than we think like Jim said.

Oh wait...you said you work at Safeway? You work at that Safeway? I was there 2 or 3 times a week before I moved to Arizona. I lived right at the bottom of 238th.

No doubt the south winds are giving out faster than the ECMWF indicated.  Maybe an hour to an hour and half ahead of schedule.  Big deal in this case.

Even if we don’t get snow it’s gonna be an icy mess later once the cold air hits. I think we’re going to get a bit of snow before this is over. Quite a few of the models show a period of snow and some precipitation left behind after the front slides through.

Woke up to about a foot of snow here in metro Vancouver. Really overperformed. What an epic snowfall

Yeah. But judging from the radar loop, the snow line is sinking quite fast… getting closer to Seattle, with plenty more precips available. We’ll see how this plays out within next hour.

30 degrees here and absolutely dumping. I haven't measured yet but looks like 5-6" on the ground. My weather station shows that the temp went up a bit during the 5am hour to about 32 or  so, but it didn't last long. Pretty rare that my location ends up being the sweet spot, but I'll take it!
