The ICON puts a low into SW Oregon at hour 180. Would be big time snow on the north side of that feature...

 

 

The GFS shows this low too, but it just dives south and doesn't get too close. Should be interesting to see if it shows up on the ECMWF or GEM.

FWIW I am hard pressed to think of many examples of Arctic outbreaks after Valentine's Day that didn't have significant lowland snow at some point during the event.  This thing has the earmarks of being a good snowmaker for many.

Likely the coldest airmass since Feb 2011 if that verifies. I like that the timing has moved up with the Arctic front hitting Sunday morning rather than evening.

I really hope this arctic boundary makes it all the way down here.  I remember Dec 2008 the temp dropped from like 38 to 17 in 2 hours. It would be awesome to experience that again.

That one looks interesting.  A good slug of maritime polar air swinging in while another batch of cold continental air is advancing toward us.  That together with trapped low level cold could work out well.

Yeah the Arctic front looks very strong and juicy on this run. It shows some nice precipitation rates as it heads on down.
