Well it's a good thing the first 2/3 of November in my area is normally inactive. There are countless times my first inch isn't until last week or so of November, with the exception of 2017.

I don’t mind the quiet weather in some regards, certainly makes work more pleasant. But I wouldn’t mind a storm or 2 to track.

Added a few tidbits to the signature. I thought it deserved top 5 daily snow and depth sections. May add something else soon.

 

I find it interesting that a storm in November and March have made 2 of my top 5 daily snows. And getting a depth over 1 foot is harder to accomplish than it seems. It's only happened twice in the last decade here I think. In the Dec-Feb period during the 2010-2011 season I did not see more than 8" all at once on the ground. That was a winter that produced a healthy amount of storms too.

 

Last season no daily snows over 3 inches, '17-'18 season was less than mediocre in my opinion. I bet this time I get many days that produce more than that.

Snowing across much of Oklahoma this morning. 2-4" expected for much of the NE part of the state. Really unusual to have a snow like this so early.

Just a tremendous amount of cold air being dislodged into the central and eastern US this month. Details haven't worked out for us, but at least we've seen some chilly lows across the region with all this. Maybe our time is coming.

Still just breezy east winds in Tigard with low around 43* but east county around the gorge outlet very active with sustained winds around the 22 mark and gusting to 38. That’s about par for the course out there.

Back home got down to 31* this morning

If only we could get in on it for once. Haven't had a true Arctic blast since what, 16-17? Or were those just a bunch of backdoor airmasses? Otherwise you have to go back to 13-14.

Dewey said essentially the same thing earlier in the season.   He ignores them when they aren't winning.   The odds of them making the playoffs are very slim now.   We won't even remember this season in 2 or 3 years.    I am not going to plan around their games at this point.   This how it goes every Mariners season... I start out strong and then slowly drift away as it becomes apparent that they are just playing out the rest of the games.    Its been quite a few years for the Seahawks... but it happens.

 

Just checked, they're actually at 30% which is about where they were at this time in 2012 and 2015.

2015 was a great team suffering from Super Bowl hangover after the loss to the Patriots.

 

If they lose on Thursday... then the only path to the playoffs is to win 6 straight games after losing 3 in a row. And that would require beating the Panthers, Vikings, and the Chiefs. And beat the Cardinals again and we barely beat them earlier this year. Tall order no matter how you slice it. It's a really long shot to finish any better than 9-7. That is just the reality of a very tough schedule.

 

And they used to be able to win the close games. They have been in 6 games that came down to one score this year... and have lost 5 of them.
