1 to 8 inches lol, don't know if I've ever seen that before.

I loved the bet hedging here, basically admitting they have no clue WTF will happen. "Amounts could be greater if it snows for longer". Probably a very wise decision after what happened last February.

One to 4 inches possible through late Friday

evening, with amounts greater than 8 inches possible if snow

  persists into Saturday.

I think things are pretty close to settled at this point.

Ohhh you think that and then BAM... an M. Night Shyamalan surprise ending out of nowhere!

You know most of the time when we get these storms east of Portland, they are 8 or more inches, with winds 30 mph or more and the temperature is usually in the mid to low 20's. I have seen it happened repeatedly over the last 30 years. Is that a Blizzard, I know that they have said Blizzard-like but what is the distinction?

Exactly.

The surprise ending is still very much a possibility!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

That snowfall happened largely in an 8 hour period. This is 3x as long as that. Honestly think this will surpass that.

This storm will impact a much larger geographical area too, with either snow or ice.

Still dumping here and down to 14F. 3-4" already when the models predicted maybe an inch tonight. Down to 13F now. Just another example of how much the models struggle with this level of cold advection and moisture. Bodes well for you all with the Arctic front.
