Pretty much all models are trending snowier here, even the GFS. On the other hand the GFS absolutely BONES me with 3/4" of ZR too. Stocking up on fuel for the generator.

Light flurries and 34F at the moment. Seeing some promising returns north of Victoria at the moment, but think they'll probably be pushed south if they try to make it across the San Juans. Temperature is actually up a degree from half an hour ago.

Looks like Snohomish County starting to switch to northerly winds on the NOAA map.

This is gonna be fun following this surface Arctic boundary get all the way to like Drain/Elkton OR.

With a warm shelter, some buffalo skins, a roaring fire and food stores for the winter I’m sure people made the best of it. Humans are pretty resilient historically. There’s a reason people colonized all the way up to the arctic circle and beyond, and choose to stay up there. Modern day humans are kinda soft.

When watching the live stream cam from Bellingham you can see snowflakes falling in the sunshine.    Pretty cool.

Eastern areas of the metro area are really getting it right now. Only flurries so far IMBY, but the short-term models (which have so far been spot-on today) say it should start moving west soon.

Cliff’s WRF had us getting snow and took it all away in the last 24 hours. Looks like another bust for that model.

Incredible. I can't even imagine a temp below 12F. I've never experienced it.

Humans were resilient but average life expectancy was 30 and you died from a cold and nature was ruthless.   It took a long time for the population to build up to a sustainable number allowing the human species to survive all the hardships so that we are here today.   Individual lives were very tough.   They didn't know any different though... it was just the way it was.

What the GFS shows would not scour out the low level cold in the PDX metro next week. I mean it would moderate of course, but it would remain chilly for sure.

The radar has me a little hopeful…Every single model map does not. What will happen. Stay tuned.
