Yep, all models are showing an intense band tomorrow afternoon/evening where 2-3" an hour snowfall rates are not out of the question. It looks to last anywhere between 3-4 hours.

Column appears to stay below freezing anyways on the Euro, at least from about I-84 northward. With over 0.50" of QPF. With temps below 20 that's roughly a 20:1 ratio. Could very well be looking at 10"+, so those Euro snow totals look a little low and overly sleety to me.

I wondering how much the raging east winds will eat up the moisture out in my neck of the woods. I’d still be very happy with 3-4 inches, though. Would at least be enough to keep us in the freezer for the inversion to follow.

12Z ECMWF fails to maintain the ridge long enough for Wednesday... following the GEM again.    Lots of precip but much warmer aloft than the 00Z run.   Very complicated set up though and definitely not resolved.

Same here, WRF has consistently been showing an area of gusts 50mph here. Either way the blizzard winds will be amazing to experience

GFS, 3km NAM and RGEM do show some light amounts today from flurries and light snow. Not sure how much convergence is playing into that but I suppose its a possible factor. The radar is starting to fill a little bit over PDX right now.

Yep, hummingbirds can go into a semi-hibernation state to conserve energy when it's extremely cold. Unusual for them to pick the feeder rather than a sheltered spot in the bushes, but I guess they want to be first in line for the next meal .
