iFred
In my part of Everett, leeward of Rucker Hill, ten feet above sea level, sheltered from the Sound, south winds, and usually the last stop on the Skykomish Express, my ground sensors are at 29°, my 10ft sensors are at 32°, and my second story office sensor is at 34°. The humidity picked up about an hour ago and it smells like snow. I didn’t charge my car just as a way to make sure that I don’t jinx this for us SnoCo folks. 6

This is good. If someone plants things damaged permanently by cold then those plants probably won't last long anyways. Rhodies aren't native to this area... but wow do they thrive here. They will go into their droopy frozen look during cold but then pop right back up as soon as it warms up. On other note... we have seen stink bugs coming into the house this winter. We have never seen that before. These bugs are not native and accidentally arrived in Allentown, PA from Asia around 2010 and have spread across most the country now. But I read this cold will kill off most of them. Obviously they will come back, but cold like this is good for keeping all kinds of things in check! Lantern Fly? I lived in ground zero for them in Philly. If you really have a lantern fly, you need to report it asap. Those bugs will wreck our orchards.

The frozen ground really isn't making a difference. Unless things change when the heavier precipitation moves in, this is a non-event. Lame.
