HRRR showing a snow depth of around 7-8" in the Spokane metro in 4 hours when the snow is supposed to wrap up for this round.  00z Euro last night called for an average 7.5" in Spokane metro.  UNCANNY

It wins some and looses some, it shows a general 2-3 inches around my cabin area and they got 6.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

I measured 14.5” here in Mission, BC in a wind-sheltered area. It fell in a 12hr timeframe. Current temp: 26F

Nice! Even though I'm a bit more windsheltered than the rest of Sumas, I still have pretty sizeable drifts around the house, so I'm not going to bother estimating final totals. It's 6.5 inches on the deck railings, so start there, and anything beyond that is a bonus, I suppose.

indeed, but you don't want to upset the natives man. lol

It’s funny because the euro was *by far* the closest to the truth on the ground, yet it gets the most flack. So unfair.

Meanwhile the RGEM/GFS were giving Randy 1ft+ yet people are treating that like gospel? It’s just ridiculous, I have to point it out.

I am pretty disappointed with this event. Yes, it was nice to get the cold temps. But for me a would rather have a good BC slider that doesn't seem to pick and choose where it will snow and leave others with nothing. Arctic or modified Arctic air in place and your moisture or low pressure moving down the BC coast that only slightly modifies the air is the only way the Central Pugent Sound can get a Vancouver type experience. Yea I know low pressure arriving at the Columbia River is ideal, but how often does that happen?

just go out there with the leaf blower

We could hear someone in our neighborhood with a leafblower earlier.  Might work for the top layer, but that stuff that fell at first was really whet!

Nuking right now.  maybe 150yd visibility.  bigger flakes.  this must be that 2"/hour stuff they were talking about this morning. maybe 2 to 3 hours left in this round, looks to be approaching 7-8" out there

I got about 2.5" in a 30 minute period this morning. It was incredible.

No doubt North Bend has put up some very respectable numbers for this cold wave.  today is their 6th consecutive freezing max.

Still waiting to see if the area of snow will make it this far or not.  It's very close.

Not sure how you folks up north are doing on precipitation this month, but we are running some modest surpluses down here. Almost a total lock to end up at least average and with wet weather ahead will probably be above average by the time all is said and done.

Hovering just above freezing here. Not really looking like a big warmup. Gfs still likes the idea of brining zr back. Does the euro back this up yet?

Euro agrees with the rest of the models in showing the strong outflow tomorrow. Just keeps temps a degree or two too warm for ZR.

It also shows the gorge fully mixing out tonight with the westerly surge behind the low, so that's probably the kicker in terms of keeping our coolant supply sufficient for tomorrow's precip. But the Euro is likely being too aggressive with that gorge warmup as it has been with ours in the metro area. So it seems like a midday dip below freezing is very possible.

Snow has stopped and radar indicates the party’s over, so 11.8" it is. Everyone measures snowfalls in metric here anyhow and I did hit a nice even 30 cm, so there’s that. Definitely exceeded expectations!

Three winters in a row with major snow.  That is rare.  With a likely Nina next winter it could easily be 4.

Driving on 90 from Bellevue to Seattle, snow stopped around Bellevue Way and positive splats stopped halfway across Lake Washington. Surface temp went from 34F to 38F. There is no way Seattle sees any snow from the convergence zone.

I thought Tim said it was all over? I am very close to being in that warning area!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Just no way to be sure right now.  C-zones have a mind of their own.  We deserve a break for sure.

It’s too bad we couldn’t get a little more snow with the mid and upper levels cooling and cold air remaining at the surface. Kind of like they’re seeing up north today. But that’s definitely wishful thinking.
