I’ve made my peace with this year. Wasn’t our year for snow. We’ll get another bite at the apple next year! Hope next year doesn’t bust again.

We are not done this year. I'd bet money.

I’m not really feeling us getting something again this winter either but you never know! February just keeps going and going nowadays.

Dude I'm worried about that area and other places near the cascades,  strong east winds should get going and there should be a good shot of more zr. Still a bunch of very cold air in passes.

We are thinking about heading to hotel in Bellevue tomorrow morning.   It's in the mid to upper 30s just on the other side of the ridge and around 33 here now.  And there is no cold left to the east of us.   Would normally not be concerned but if we get it worse than today again then probably don't want to be here because power will be out forever.   They are saying 8 a.m. restoration but that is meaningless if we have another freezing rain event.    Huge difference between 34 and raining and 31 and raining and not sure which it will be yet.

All of the models are trying to get something going late month.  Still a lot to be sorted out.

I actually kinda hope the AR happens next weekend. Some of our best events happen following ARs.

If those winds crank up from the east the cold air will zip right back over the pass on just a few hrs. Still very cold on the east slopes

We had a few hours of very light snow here earlier this evening too, just as the low level outflow moved back in.  We briefly jumped up to 35F but then fell back below freezing late this afternoon.  Sitting at 30 right now.

Yeah... but its 28 at the pass and 32 in Easton.   Those aren't numbers that would normally mean below freezing in NB.   Who knows though.

100%. NWS has failed back to back years to warn people of the severity of these ice events. It’s already a warzone out there and no power anywhere. Not gonna be good.

Apparently they weren’t paying attention to what was happening in Springfield, OR and failed to understand the ramifications of such a severe event.

Hope y’all are having a peaceful evening. I was somehow able to make it to my janitor job this evening. Grateful to have someone able to drive me. So many trees down and hanging on the power lines.

Does your spouse have to take PTO for not being able to work at home or are they understanding? My spouse enjoys custodial work, but can't do it until she recovers.

My wife has had to take PTO for bad weather days but she got really sick a few weeks ago right after she started the new job. Now Mother Nature decided to give us the worst ice storm in modern history so she can’t work from home like she had been, as our internet could be out for weeks so now she has to go into the office to work when we were hoping to save money on gas.

Well it gets colder as you go down the east side but that dense cold air in Ellensburg for example usually doesn't get here.   The pass is usually a good indicator for us... if it's in the teens at the pass then watch out.   But I honestly have no idea what will happen tomorrow.    New ECMWF shows some freezing rain tomorrow but this wouldn't be catastrophic.   It was wrong today since the low came through a little farther south than it showed.  Hoping it has better handle on tomorrow which is just a traditional warm front and not dependent on a precise surface low location.
