I love how the weather forum just turned into a discussion about mountains, beaches, and lakes in the last 24 hours.

Tremendous.   From a little chilly to a little less chilly.   What is the point of living if it can't be cold all the time?

No we just want cold in the winter, more than a few weeks. I'm all for warm days in summer because that is where and when it belongs. Unfortunately we have to suffer and watch our forests die as we venture through this climate change.

This 3 day warm spell doesn't do much harm.   And that was not the point of my post.   There is a just a minor difference between the 00Z and 12Z ECMWF.   Certainly not a "tremendous step back" as Andrew reported.  😃

Well with the fork getting closer to being stuck in this winter in terms of snow then that’s what tends to happen.

It’s interesting how the person who pats themselves on the back for never mocking other people’s preferences has spent all week endlessly mocking other people’s preferences.

When I moved to my house I had 9 hemlock trees and 6 cedar trees. I now have 2 hemlock and 3 Cedar. The dry summers have eliminated them here.

It’s heartbreaking to see. It would be nice to see things get better at some point, even if just temporarily. Hard to imagine every lowland cedar and hemlock being gone within the next few decades. Because at the rate things are going now, that’s what we’re looking at.

I pay close attention to my forest behind my house which is about 1300 acres of state land and over the last ten years the trees that require more moisture, cedar, hemlock and so on have taken a major beating. It isn't a bug or desese it is water deprivation. Only the ones that are in a low area, ditch or natural wet area are thriving. And we are talking 100 year old adult trees.

I love spending time in the water too. It’s not one or the other. Some people are just sadists and enjoy watching other people suffer. And they justify it by making their loss seem unrelatable or trivial. It’s a piece of human nature I have a tough time understanding.

52 and rain. Up to .44” on the day, 4.76” for the month. Maybe I will take Monday off and do some pre spring yard work.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

You might be the most sensitive, paranoid, and spiteful person I have ever encountered.   No idea why you think any of this.

Why do you think you own this place?  This is our home too.   We have dead trees.   We live through smoke and heat and hate it just as much as you and everyone else.   We also love our lake days and beautiful summer days.   All of the above.   And control none of it.

Nope.   Not calling out preferences.   Not telling anyone to enjoy it.   Just calling out all the hyperbolic language.   It's pretty funny.

My brother texted me a bit ago and said he hit 60 in Salem. He lived the past 4-5 years in the Coos Bay Area, so he’s used to 60s this time of year. They actually did well last year for snow though. Probably had about 6-8” total between a couple of events.

On summer evenings there are usually cars all along the shoulder on 202 so you know where they are before you see the elk.    A couple summers ago they made a small dirt lot for people to park off the highway.   People will also walk way too close to get pics.

I pulled off there last year on my way to take some clients golfing and was working on my laptop not knowing what it was. I looked up after working a bit and there was a huge herd of elk around my car!

The ice storm and destruction of so many trees was pleasant.   But a couple days of sweatshirt weather and no damage is apocalyptic.    😀
