^^ That seems like a well-detailed LR forecast to me, no? Is there some nuance in there that I’m missing?

I even added an extra paragraph to clarify that I *wasn’t* calling for a torch. What more can I do?

I’m feeling the pain of the swamp too. Currently 35 and raining here as well. It was snowing earlier though which was nice to see.

Just never got cold enough to stick here last night unfortunately…was skeptical about accumulating snow going into this though so not really surprising. It came down pretty hard the times I checked outside but just never got stickage with it being 34-36 all night.

I got bupkis. Just cold rain all night. Lame-O!

Weird how these things work. You would think being a few miles from the water would help you. Places to your west basically on the water got something.

Traffic cams show snow in the freeway median in Lakewood so it didn’t miss Tacoma by much.  Olympia area looks pretty snowy.

Yeah I went outside and there was a little slush at home. Looks like we were just a little too far NE but we’ll do better next year!

Mark Nelsen did a great job of documenting in real time how the Portland NWS was out to lunch. He appeared offended by their stupidity.

Mark Nelsen is the best forecaster in the state, at least for the gorge, Mt Hood and PDX. He misses far less than the NWS and always explains his thoughts.

This was never going to be an event for the valley. Especially down south. I'm pretty embedded into Eugene as my home so I will not likely ever leave. I've reached the conclusion that I need to get a better snow car (have a shitttty front wheel Camry that isn't terrible, but not ideal). There are some nice destinations less than 2 hours that are extremely snowy. Crescent Lake has great places. Odell Lake has a nice lodge and cabins. Diamond Lake has some rustic, fun cabins. I'm thinking of maybe buying a partial cabin ownership with some friends when my financial situation gets a bit better. Some of the lakes have great summer and winter activities. It's one of the great things of living in the PNW.

That’s a good attitude. This winter has been a dud, but on one hand it was expected. Work has been completely bonkers too, so I haven’t had much time to think about much else. I love it.

Did seem like a lot of folks north of PDX thought they would get snow. Which is pretty funny,  but this has to be devastating for many. Total bust. Lesson is: it has to be cold to snow. 🤣
