February 2024 Weather in the PNW

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty skeptical that King county c-zone shown on the GFS tonight would be snow, but it shows 925mb temps dropping to -3 so it's possible.  The 12z ECMWF was not on board.

Beautiful day in my new home, Cashmere 🥰

I just saw it's upper 50s over there.  I think you're going to like it there.  The one thing I like more about the Kittitas Valley is it has way cooler summers than the Wenatchee Valley, but other than that a lot of similarities.

Why don't you back the F off before you see a side of me you won't like. Deal? JUST DROP IT. Been on here way to long to deal with high-school  drama like this.

@snow_wizard, this must be what you’re always referring to when you insist people are triggered when they aren’t identified how they prefer? 😂 The irony…

Blustery and wet here today, 1.85” today but only 6.04” this month.

The GFS shows snow on the back edge of the AR Wednesday night.  That has been known to happen from time to time.  Could be a close call.

I'm sure the original comment containing "bro" had no ill-intent behind it. I've more often than not seen it used in friendly banter. It's not the most professional way to address someone but it was a pretty common phrase at one point in time.

Correcting someone and using bro though, and being pessimistic. Guy is annoying.

Another beautiful 63F day, glad we were able to get a nice walk before the incoming storms! WSW for above 2500'. We have a chance of mix precipitation but it's late at night.

Looking west, this wall of doom is showing up as nothing from KATX, not even on the higher bands. If it's gonna storm it's about to do so without warning.

Just got back from a trip up to Snoqualmie Pass…dumping rain up there with a mix right at the summit. Maybe a slushy half inch on the ground. That’s about 8-12” short of what the global models were predicting by 4 pm today! Amazing how many people ski in that garbage although maybe the upper mountain was better.

My understanding was that heavy snow was supposed to be from evening to tomorrow morning.

Our snow is garbage and so are our average summers. Maybe we could take some tips from Michigan as to prime skiing and ideal weather conditions.

You're joking, right? Sure we don't have good powder (except a handful of days a year), but our terrain is infinitely better than Michigan, and the summers in the PNW are almost perfect, except except the lack of thunderstorms.

He was joking

On a side note I always thought Mount Daniel would be an awesome location for a ski resort. It would probably rival Whistler for a top ski destination in North America if developed. Much higher elevation than the pass and dryer snow. Glad it ain’t happening but fun to think about.
