I guess it’s coming? Sigh.

Hopefully it does not last all of April and May like it did in 2022.   But its only mid-March so that is par for the course.   And that does show it staying above freezing so that would be good.

I stock every October. 9-11” trout. Most years they should survive the season but the last few summers have been too hot or too dry or both. Water temp can’t exceed 79

Just add enough ice and it will cool the water off.

Been recharging my batteries after finals. Completely done with my CS degree and Math minor! … Assuming I passed!

Absolutely gorgeous day at Dash Point earlier at low tide. Still hanging onto 70F imby.

Couldn’t get to hike last summer cause of classes, so I look forward to hitting up Rainier and around Lake Crescent for the first time sooner or later. 😊

We sometimes have people confuse our English Cream Golden Retriever with a Great Pyrenees.  Sometimes my phone even gets confused.

My wife was down on the waterfront with the dog and actually had a couple argue with her that we actually had a Great Pyrenees and NOT a Golden Retriever.  Our dog is AKC registered, and we know the breeder very well.  We know what we have.

Our doggo is not a fan of the heat either.  She can handle 70-80 in small doses, above 80 its not happening unless we stay in the shade.  On the flip side, it can be 10-20 degrees and dumping snow, and she will grab a bone and go out in the yard, lay in the snow, and chew on her bone like it is a sunny 70 degree day

Congrats!  I didn't finish my degree until I was 47, which was in 2019 and I remember the incredible sense of satisfaction when I turned in that final project and got the grade back.

I also remember that for about 2-3 weeks afterwards I would be chilling on the couch watching TV, and have these sudden panic attacks "Oh crap! What am I doing I need to be studying right now!!!!"

I hope April and May are chilly and moist all the way through, that would be ideal.

I’m hoping for a balance of cool/wet and warm/dry…All the way until November.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

I would not mind that either, I was just looking at the snow water equivalent maps, and its looking pretty craptastic up this way.

I like the diurnal ranges on this “heatwave.” We’ve made it down to the low 40s every night. If only our summer heatwaves worked like this… we’ve struggled to fall below 60 in recent years during those. Not sure if humidity has been increasing or what.

That's awesome, congrats on your degree too! That's how I feel right now when I turned in my last assignment and project a few days ago, and will probably panic about "wait.. I don't have anything more to turn in, right?" Lol.

If I do grad school, I wanna pivot into meteorology or astronomy somehow. I'll see what happens!

It was a beaut, wasn’t it? As I was outside, the thought occurred to me that yesterday and today would feel like Yellowknife in the summer: a gentle warmth without the sun feeling like one is standing under a heat lamp. Then again, the mosquitos and horse flies would be a force to be reckoned with.

Also... the EPS and GEFS show more snow across the upper Midwest in the next 2 weeks than they have seen all winter.    And lots of snow for the entire northern US.

Good point. Looking at the models this morning I noticed pretty much all the cold air has been watered down, and these runs are essentially climo. Fine with me, should be plenty (average amounts) of rain and pass elevation snow or higher as demonstrated in your fairly juicy snow maps.

Looking at the 850mb temp loop from the EPS over the next 9 or 10 days you can see the coldest air just sort of goes around us... but still plenty cold for mountain snow.

ENSO region 3.4 down to +1.1 now, pretty solid drop in one weeks time, the crash is finally really picking up momentum. I'm starting to vibe that next winter will probably be pretty wet.

Phil has me thinking there is hope for cold neutral or a week Nina.    The Nino will be gone soon but that doesn't necessarily mean it will continue to crash hard all the way to a strong Nina.

Saw article online that the cherry blossons in DC are peaking and its the second earliest ever there.

So that reminded me to check out the cherry blossoms at UW in Seattle... and wow they are early too.    They say they will peak in March this year and they look like they are getting close already.

It was a beautiful St Paddy’s day ☘️ My kiddos are Irish dancers so it was a crazy busy but amazing weekend to be out and about the metro ☀️

12Z GFS keeps the rain mostly offshore in the Wed - Fri period... there is a little rain but not much.   And it shows its still around 60ish on Friday.    Pretty gentle ridge break down.

Not quite out here yet but one of the biggest Yoshino cherry trees in Vancouver (or anyplace) is on the street in front of my place and its buds are almost open.

Just in time for my week at the beach! Gross, but such is life.

Models are backing off this. I think we just get cold rain, which is fine by me.
