Power flash insanity to the north. The north sky is much darker now... mass power outages in western Snohomish county.

Well, massive light show over city of Everett. Just witnessed half the city go dark. The northern tip of the city still has lights but the downtown appears to be black.

Transformers don't blow, it's the banked line fuse that fails resulting in the power flash you see and tripping the circuit for that grid.

The flag on the flag pole is tearing... The wind is still absolutely horrendously loud. Everything is just madness right now. I'm looking out towards Tulalip and Tulalip is now dark.

There has to be lightning because the clouds are lighting up all over the sky including over the water. This is the most intense storm I've ever seen outside of a hurricane.

I'm not seeing anything on lightning detection. Sounds like wicked power outages.

Were you here for the Hannukah Eve Storm? If so, this is more intense? Wow!

Could anyone look up with the wind gusts are at Paine Field or out towards Mukilteo. I'm sure they are insane. We are having sustained winds right now that I have never seen before.

The NWS is calling for wind gusts up to 85mph in the cascades over 4500 feet. That doesn't happen very often.

Still have power but gusting 50-55mph at times. We’ve had strong winds for 4 hours now normally wind events don’t last this long. Surprised we’ve held onto our power.

Winds here just suddenly picked up and lights flickered. Trash can fell over outside.

How did the forecasters not see this event happening? I mean they also would be windy but not to this level. This is insane. I am in complete shock right now.

Yeah, it wasn't smart, but we weren't hounding them and they all ignored the email. Except Mass probably didn't like the injury to his ego in that we asked other people too and not his expertise and we didn't get everything we needed to know from his book. 

Sorry it's not a better story. I can make up another if you would prefer. Many years later it just makes me think about how no matter how smart he is, how arrogant and petty he is too. Like dude, we were stupid college kids. Just hit delete.

Except this was modeled… very well by the Euro. It called for this around 11pm.

Sorry everyone, I'm going to have to go to save the batteries on my phone. Unless something major happens I probably won't be on. Hopefully we can laugh this off tomorrow and everything will be okay.  I will check all quotes and responses that people have left tomorrow. I know there are several notifications I got but I can't see them all on my phone.

Could be recency bias but this is definitely one of the most intense storms I’ve experienced since Hanukkah eve ‘06
