Massive light storm in the sky. I think there's lightning now too. Wind's still non-stop. I can hear sirens in the distance.

Where do you actually live?

I just witnessed two major transformer explosions. One went off towards Marysville and now it's completely dark over there. But there was also a light in the sky, maybe lightning?

Transformers don't blow, it's the banked line fuse that fails resulting in the power flash you see and tripping the circuit for that grid.

Can you tell that it’s “not really windy there” from TV or are you actually there? My sister is there and said it’s very windy and the winds swirling inside the stadium.

Not there... just watching on TV.   My son is there and said its "kinda windy" but that was 30 minutes ago and might have changed.

Sheringham W56 gust to 66.  People near the east entrance of the Strait had better hold on!

Could anyone look up with the wind gusts are at Paine Field or out towards Mukilteo. I'm sure they are insane. We are having sustained winds right now that I have never seen before.

Paine Field hit 39 MPH. https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=KPAE&hours=72

Winds here just suddenly picked up and lights flickered. Trash can fell over outside.

Without power and bad cell service (don’t feel like firing up the generator this late) I can’t post pics but we are up to nearly 100k in Snohomish county.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Basically when I was a student at UW, I was part of a group project in a non-atmospheric sciences class. We reached out to atmospheric sciences professors to ask them some questions via email about the convergence zone and pissed them off. Mass was the only one who replied and chewed us out for emailing everyone when he was the expert and all we had to do was consult his book. Fun times.

Yeah, it wasn't smart, but we weren't hounding them and they all ignored the email. Except Mass probably didn't like the injury to his ego in that we asked other people too and not his expertise and we didn't get everything we needed to know from his book.

Sorry it's not a better story. I can make up another if you would prefer. Many years later it just makes me think about how no matter how smart he is, how arrogant and petty he is too. Like dude, we were stupid college kids. Just hit delete.

Can you email Judah?

But seriously the gusts are starting to shake the house.

How did the forecasters not see this event happening? I mean they also would be windy but not to this level. This is insane. I am in complete shock right now.

Except this was modeled… very well by the Euro. It called for this around 11pm.

I think the Judah model is going the way of the UJEAS.
