Move to the King/Snohomish county line. Trust me you will not regret it. Overperformed in Feb 2019, January 2020, Feb 2021, and now tonight. Literally an over performing event every year for the past 4 years. Was only supposed to get 4 inches tonight according to the Euro and I’m almost at 6 now!

KING/SNO line is truly the best for snow. Especially with a little elevation. You get convergence zones, are farther north, but not too far north to miss precipitation.

Hah. One of Seattle’s 30 plows just came by. Good on them.

Some serious power outages going on right now in North Seattle (not to mention Snohomish County!). Washington currently has the most outages of any state, by a wide margin.image.thumb.png.25b99d4cdee92301d2a5a0ca06e0f680.pngimage.png.c076553f6167b9513a22bf234f51f189.png

Oh yeah definitely I’m at just over 400’ elevation as well so I definitely normally do well in snow events. This event I’ve been doing great most models showed me switching over to rain by 5-7pm and it’s still coming down at my house. The power has been flickering so much I’ve been worried I won’t make it though the night without losing power.

2023 - 2024 Cold Season Stats

Total Snowfall - 0.75”

Max Snow Depth - 0.5”

Coldest High Temp - 21 (Jan 13)

Coldest Low Temp - 9 (Jan 13)

Number of Freezes - 51

Sub-40 highs - 12

Highs 32 or lower - 3

My power in Bothell has gone out for two thirty second intervals just now.

Frustrating indeed but you know the drill. Snow is never a slam dunk around here.

If it is any consolation, the euro seems to be the only model that is that dry right now. The GEM, GFS and even UKMET are much wetter. A 60-70 mile shift eastward and there would be a lot more juice to work with on the euro. Wouldn't take a dramatic change.

Oh, definitely. Snow in the lowlands anywhere is always a fun treat. Just definitely feels like one of those weeks where we're just so close to something appreciable.

Still going strong here. Not much sticking on the roads but I don’t even care.

I've lived there before.  There have been times I've done better here than up there, but on balance that area is better.  The interesting thing is we haven't seen patterns that favor the south county on a large scale in a very long time.

Just about ready to go to bed when the rates picked up again. Judging by my outdoor table, maybe about an inch and a half since this started 2 hours ago. Not sure how much more accumulation to expect given it’s pretty heavy wet snow, but I’ll take it! Anyone know if SeaTac was able to nudge over 1” today or have they been snow free since morning?

You’re only 70’ lower than me but that’s enough for completely white roads. I’ve gotten 1.25” compacted to 1” of slop. Plus .25”. Earlier in the day.

SEA has turned back to snow.  It is working southward.

BTW the 6z NAM is better for tomorrow night than the 0z. That cancels out the HRRR.
