Back home in AZ, which will feel weird for a while. 72 when we landed! 

Kiddo fell asleep on mom 3 minutes after take off and slept for an hour.

Only got above freezing in Nampa for a few hours on Wednesday. Had snow on the ground the whole time and about an inch fell yesterday. I got my fix in, now time for shorts and t shirts again I guess!

Some very significant winds throughout the region right now.  Very strong 40-50mph gusts along the Oregon Coast from Gold Beach to Ocean Shores, WA. 60mph gusts around the Olympic Mtns and decent 30mph gusts through the Hood Canal.

The North Sound is seeing strong winds varying from 30-50mph gusts ranging from about Everett, through Whidbey Island, and up to Whatcom County.  Vancouver Island and the Straight of Georgia is seeing powerful gusts as well, frmom 30mph to 60mph gusts.  Some of the strongest being at Mount **** on Texada Island in British Columbia, just west of Halfmoon Bay.  Possibly a 60+mph gust there. 

This Everett Courthouse Camera shows downtown and you can slightly see the massive storm from moving into the Puget South and the variation of clouds from brighter to pitch black.  Note the American flag practically straight on the pole blowing like mad.   Winds are coming in from the southwest and blowing northward.

Cold holding on in SE PDX 35-36 according to old style thermometer.  Reading on my car dash as I crossed the 205 bridge was 32* . Highway for the most part clear except 205 bridge area had some ice here and there. The most dangerous part of the trip was standing water with all the rain and dodging HUGE pieces of ice flying off cars….that was no joke and scary!  
According to my station back home the south winds finally warmed thing up! 53*

42 here but I noticed my concrete looked like it had new ice on it in places because I fell so I did this and I find it interesting.  The ground is still cold and there is ice forming on the ground in this spot. Pretty crazy.

That was happening all over the place here yesterday evening. Stuff was melting off trees and cars like crazy at the same time new ice was forming on the sidewalks.

That's an interesting little system that drops the low elevation snow, then it dries out and we cool off at the surface. Nice run if it turns out that way. Mountains look to get a lot of snow coming up.

Up to 51.3 now. This feels almost tropical compared to just 48 hours ago when it was 30 degrees cooler at this time.

Still 34.3F here and white outside, melting has been really slow even with all the rain earlier. It might be fake snow but its still a white Christmas eve. I'll take it.

Definitely a different feel from a few days ago.

Hummingbirds are happy as hell the cold and freezing rain is gone.

Had to refresh their feeders a couple of times a day.

They love the homemade juice I make for them and when I warm it up they go nuts for it.

Cool creatures.

I haven't gone outside at all today but it looks like we had some sort of light icy mix last night and occasionally a mix this afternoon but not lasting long. Glad the ice threat has passed.

It feels great to just de-stress and not have to look at any maps with 110% model riding energy like the last two weeks were.

A well deserved break just in time for mid-January!
