Up to 63 at EUG now. SLE ONLY 52 at the moment, lets see if they mix out. Looks like it's up to 58 at my place. A lot of mid-60s in the foothills right now with a 66 at Colton.

Bummer that even if we get a great setup in the coming weeks there will be virtually no real cold air to work with.

I give a February surprise about a 3% chance this year.

This winter is starting to feel real short and real done.

The great news though....spring training is right around the corner! Go Giants!

Siberia is brutally cold now.  If the right setup happens, there will be cold air to work with.

Really nasty stuff.

Pretty amazing how easy it is to torch in winter here. Almost forgot about it between early November and around Christmas we were able to avoid it altogether.

It was a nice stretch. We have our wins here and there but it has warmed a lot just like any other season.

What will be interesting and fun is if the east wind machine of the last couple weeks, driven almost entirely by offshore cyclogenesis, flips and we won’t be able to buy offshore flow when the pattern turns favorable late this month.

I always thought hemorrhoids sounded interesting and fun too.

I'm rebuilding a rear differential on a 2010 Ford f350. This is what happens when you don't do services of fluids, moisture builds up and if the vehicle sits things start to rust even when submerged in oil as evidence with this ring gear.

Wow!  I have an 02 Chevy short wide box that is my summer fun truck.  It pretty much sits in the off season.  Now I have something to think about...

Yes, the discussion was relegated to our specific area.

February 2021 (🥰) was objectively a much bigger, more exciting, and more impactful event at my location. Regardless of how warm the nose was at My Location.

The ground was basically a layered cake of ice/sleet/snow here which was really interesting. Nice event but sadly less snow then expected.

1.20" since Jan. 1st here, or around 55% of normal.

12.70" for the water year, or around 70% of normal.

Same old story with forecasts busting dry every time, and models trending drier with each run. Again, we'd be at 200% of normal precip if the forecasts and models verified even 2 days out. Wish I understood why this keeps happening.

I don't know. Feels like something has fundamentally changed in this area since the early 2000s in a bad way with the high temp and precip department.

Conversely, it feels like we're playing with house money in the snowfall department compared to 1996-2003.

How much snow have you had? I'd go with maybe a C. No snow really but we did have our coldest day since 2014 with the sharp and brief arctic intrusion.

Heaviest 24-hour snowfall: 10.5"
Deepest snow depth: 13"
