50/50 sleet/snow mix just started up here.

King 5 is already walking back the snow and now only calling for a dusting at best most places.

 

They claimed to be showing the UW high resolution model but it showed literally nothing for the lowlands... Which even the WRF this morning showed some snow for areas near Olympia. Not sure what's going on there.

 

They should have just stuck to their original guns. UW high res is out to lunch imo.

I always side with the ECMWF over the WRF when they are different.

My gut tells me this will be a predominantely back loaded (or whatever its called) winter where the PNW in general sees substantial cold and snow. But thats my gut feeling. Which has no merit whatsoever

I never pay attention to the news of the NWS forecast.  They are just looking at the same models that we are seeing... its not like they have some magical hidden data.    I don't care how they interpret the models.    I can do that on my own.

The radar looks much better at this point than events where people north of OLM got shafted. Really no reason to believe that will happen this time.

2-3 pm? Probably 3-4 pm at the earliest most places.

This phallic band is a bit too flaccid. It isn't going to get the job done. Back to all sleet and precip rate is dying down. Odds of seeing any further snow probably not great here unless that secondary low forms and heads well south.

Yeah they dropped the previous 2 to 4 inches for Arlington to less tha an inch. They probably discounted the Euro and went with the drier solutions
