Random question: has there ever been a wind chill advisory, watch or warning posted for western Oregon/Washington? I wonder what the criteria for those are here.

There has I believe for Whatcom Co due to outflow winds, I think Dec. 1996 might have featured one up there. I know my area was under a Blizzard warning the night of 12/28/96 (I believe was the date) but I have no idea what the criteria is on them.

That was like the most frustrating BSF that I can remember for the valley, similar to the Jan 1998 event that had the arctic boundary stall like 5 miles north of the McMinnville area.

The color satellite shows it best. Some very nasty stuff coming our way, though surface air quality is still pretty good here at the moment.

Yeah it was real smokey out this way today. Worst day yet. Thankfully it looks like it should improve tomorrow with the incoming rain and more of a NE flow.
